An overview of learnings and best-of discoveries as well as impressive projects surrounding the reverse engineering and modding of Super Mario Odyssey.

In more than four years of decompiling the game (OdysseyDecomp), we have learnt about Nintendo's code practices and mistakes, some easter-eggs, and unused content. While a part of the community was busy taking the game apart, others focused on creating something new - in this talk, I show our decomp project along with a live demo of the workflow, some interesting easter eggs, unintended behaviour and interesting concepts in Nintendo's code, and finally some best-ofs and current state of the modding community.
