XBeat Competition
The XBeat is an easy build and easy programmable, lowcost Robot. The microcontroller is a ARM Cortex M3 from NXP. But the chip is ready mounted at the mbed.org dev board. With this dev-board, ARM programming is really easy. You don't need any toolchain an your computer, it works online (there is no official offline compiler, but you can use other compiler, like gcc, how can create code for NXP LPC1768).

The hardware is easy to build and flexible to use.
Competition
The Competition consist of two tasks:
1. Line Follow 2. Sumo
The activity is planed for 3 days.
Day 1: Build the XBeat. This takes one or two hours.
Then you have time to program the robot.
Day 3: Beat your competitors with your programming skills.
Line Follow Goal: Best Time
Sumo: Fight against all opponents. The robot with the most victories wins.

- The XBeat PCB: 15€ (1,45€ shipping cost in germany).
- mbed dev board: arount 60€
- elektronic parts: 13€
- Servo-Motors and wheels: about 15
