1) Introduction into the Privacy Debate: Why is consumer privacy just as important as security? Why and how do companies collect data about their customers (e.g. loyalty villages such as Payback)? And what can companies do with them/what do they plan? What type of data do they need?
2) Consumers: How do they view their 'right to privacy' and to what extend do they wish to protect it? In contrast: How do they behave once they are online (chatting and lying)?
3) Ways to protect privacy: How does the law (EU & Germany & Safe Harbor) protect consumer privacy and where does the law fail? More important: PETS (Privacy Enhancing Technologies): How can technology support the protection of peoples'privacy (P3P, Anonymizer, Remailer, fat client agent models)
4) Special Focus: Privacy Technology Projects
