Question 1: What is the max. (port) speed I get from the Datenklo when I connect my machine?

Answer 1: Normally at CCC Events you get at least 100mbit from the switch. The speed of the uplink to the internet is atm not clear. --Anuron 17:07, 3 May 2007 (CEST)

Answer 1.1: Uplink 1GE to the outside world, on site backbone 10GE, and you might get 1GE out of the datenklo in some cases --elisa 04:09, 26 July 2007 (CEST)

Question 2: If I bring my own fibre (something between 300 and 3000 meters is possible), is it possible to hook up somewhere with at least Gigabit? What type of GIBC should I bring with me (SX or LX)? (I would provide both sides with GIBC's) --StrangeMove 11:12, 6 July 2007 (CEST)

Answer 2: Why didn't you tell us before that you have that much fiber?! :) I cannot say it for sure, it will depend on where you are located and if the datenklo is equipped with anything we can plug you into. Best thing, ask the helpdesk once you're there. --elisa 04:09, 26 July 2007 (CEST)

Question 3: I would like to set up some tor-servers. Do I need to tell anybody that I will need some bandwith ? What IPs are available ? All from one Network ? And what Netmask ? Cz8s

Answer 3: The IP number plan is not finalised yet. Get an IP address via DHCP, or ask the NOC-Helpdesk for a more permanent spot if you have a real server. Please don't hog bandwidth on the wireless, find a fixed switchport. --Niels 04:24, 26 July 2007 (CEST)

Question 4: Is a fully unmanaged switch allowed to be plugged into a "Datenklo" or is there a need/ a rule to configure it?

Answer 4: Plug anything in that you like as long as it doesn't interfere with the network. For example, don't run a DHCP server, keep your Linksys AP at home. --Niels 21:37, 30 July 2007 (CEST)
