Assembly specification 3. We need something special or in between those options: Please specify in the field planning notes.
Planning notes We would really appreciate access to the running water and drainage for our sinks (kitchen/workshop area). We plan to install piping to make this happen, any help from orga on what everything is needed so it fits in the actual physical location would be highly appreciated! We know this is not going to be easy and it is quite specific but we need this and we are asking for a proper spot for around two months now making sure we are not late :-) Access to electricity which will be enough to feed several induction stoves and maybe smaller electric ovens would be lovely, at least 5 kW if possible. Especially the workshops/sessions need to be done at the assembly because we need the infrastructure (kitchen and workshop venue) to make them happen, also they are hands on mostly so enough place is necessary. PS We do not plan to serve food to public, max tasters for free, donations appreciated (discussed with orga already).

Our crowdsourcing campaign for 30c3 event is on! Please support and spread the word! Thank you!

We are the Food Hacking Base (fhb), a bunch of hackers from all over the world who share the love of experimenting with food and beverages. We are building tools and trying out new techniques or those based on the ancient wisdom of traditional societies. Merging this ancient knowledge with today's scientific understanding and technology are some of our areas of interest.

Goals

Meeting each other again, getting in touch with people who are into food, beverage and bio hacking and having good time together. We learn, teach and experiment, doing both similar and different stuff at every event, well lovely duality. This time we are especially after putting together proper experimental kitchen and workshop venue suitable for activities related to food&beverage&bio hacking, first time doing so on an indoor event, so come and help us to make it happen!! You can join the workshops, give some if you like, or just come, have a chat, check out what we are up to and relax before your next presentation …

Food Hacking Base/Support Us

In this section you will find the usual info how to support us. Please keep in mind that it is the human spirit, true dedication and believing in what you do what makes things happen, money just help on the way ...

Guidelines

“Be excellent to each other” was working fine in the past so lets stick to it. Keep an eye open making sure that your follow foodhacker (of whatever gender) is safe from your experimental frenzy and give them your ear if they need it. It is a long ride through the life, so keep in mind that there are going to be a lots of opportunities to come together again, so more of us equals more fun!

Food Hacking Base/Budget

Again we are running independent for this event so if you want to support please read more at Food Hacking Base/Support Us. Here under the budget is an overview of how much is needed by financial means and more detailed plan. The goal is to rise around €2000-3000 before and during the whole event to keep in plus numbers.

Food Hacking Base/Workshops

Serving as a venue for workshops sharing knowledge and experience in an open access style is one of our main goals. You can come and join us learning how to make traditional Korean kimchi, realizing that brewing your kombucha is easy ... Also as usually we will educate ourselves at cheese randevou, and many others, just check it out!

Food Hacking Base/Projects

These activities are centered around some topic like for example brewing, or building an experimental incubator and are going to be happening during the event repeatedly, including workshops, talks and gatherings. At the moment you can join among the others experimental incubator building and prototyping, brewing variety of beverages, you may get interested in the Kombucha cosmopolita project promoting and spreading this culture around the world and many others.

Food Hacking Base/Gear, Tools and Ingredients

As usually we have a wish list of the equipment which we would like to get for this event. If you can bring some gear please let us know, however we are now starting to build our own repository which we can use from event to event. Our budget will serve as a "buffer" in case that some of the equipment which we borrow would be damaged, so we can repay it.
