Rawie burger with sprouty salad (main meal, raw-food, vegetarian/vegan, gluten-free, lactose-free)

Raw-food burgers are an example of quick and easy-to-make food which is extremely healthy and nutrition-rich. They may be served also pan-fried or baked, but are best raw. Together with a sprout salad and a good dressing or salsa this is an ideal raw-food main meal.

Ingredients

Burger

(for 2 burgers)

1 cup walnuts

1/2 cup hemp seeds

2 tablespoons apple vinegar

2 tablespoons coconut oil or hemp oil

1/2 tablespoon basil

1/2 tablespoon oregano

sea salt

Salad

mung bean sprouts

dulse

tamari soy sauce

red pepper

salad oil

balsamic vinegar

Other variants

  • the burger can be prepared from almost any combination of nuts and seeds, such as alonds and flaxseeds or pecan nuts and sunflower seeds

Equipment needed

food processor or blender

cutting board and a sharp knife

Preparation Time

  • 15-20 minutes salad
  • 10-15 minutes burger

Instructions

  1. Put all ingredients for the burgers into a food processor or a blender and blend well.
  2. Form burgers from the mixture
  3. In a bowl, mix sprouts, flakes of dulse and red pepper diced into small pieces.
  4. Add the soy sauce, a little bit of oil and vinegar and mix well.

Variants

  • Fry the burgers on a pan until golden brown, flipping once.
  • Bake the burgers in an oven (200 °C) for 30-35 minutes.
