The habitat "Aachen an der Saar" (Aachen upon Saar / Aachen near the river Saar in German) is the union of the Chaos Computer Club Aachen (CCCAC), Hacksaar (TKS, hackerspace in Saarbrücken), the Maschinendeck e.V. (hacker- and makerspace in Trier) and the Zentrum für Technikkultur Landau e.V. (ZTL, makerspace in Landau).

This habitat combines all those hackerspaces under one umbrella during chaos events. The physical proximity to one another is relative, which is why the everyday of a hacker often leads to an exchange of experiences. Manytimes also, because one is not yet aware of all the like-minded people around oneself. "Aachen an der Saar" has as its goal to bridge this gap of unawareness in the south-west of Chaos-Germany.

Through the collaboration in this habitat we hope that not only can new friendships be realized, technical knowledge be exchanged, and resources be shared, but that by appearing as a larger entity than our constituents on their own, we can draw awareness. With this awareness for those like us, we hope to encourage more new friendships and exchange of experiences still (hopefully leading to a positive feedback loop).

Naturally everyone is welcome. Those who also happen to be active in the chaos vicinity in the south-west of Germany definitely have a good opportunity to make new acquaintances, start friendships, or also receive some support here.
