Audiosphere
From 23C3 Public Wiki
our nice small planet make some noises. since million of years is the earthsurrounding atmosphere a medium to transport acoustical waves across the planet.
but some important changes happend to this in the last 200 years. the audiosphere has changed alot accorrding to volume, variety and muliplicity.
especially the aspects of recording, copying and transmitting audiosignals are responsible for it. here is a short look of different phases which infuence a lot at the Audiospere.
Contents |
recording phase
The invention of Audio Drain. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phonograph#The_phonautograph
playback phase
The invention of Audio Sources which reverse-engineer acoustical signals, corresponding to the waves, which are frozen Audio Flow previously captured with recording devices. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phonograph
telegraphic phase
transfering standard acoustical wave (beeps) in lightspeed. so the mankind started to generate over a distance. it was used to encode acoustic signals words into written words into morsecode into rhythmic interruptions of the continius wave of into written words again and sometimes also spoken words so acoustical waves. imagine in 1907 someone on boat close to the coast was speeking the sentence. "Lets send a SOS signal" if they did so and some others where getting the message someone of them said the sentence "we received a SOS".

radio phase

peering phase
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Telephone
grammophonic phase
invented as mechanical acoustic generator. boosted by vinyl and electric amplification.
taping phase
optimisation
digital recording
so the signal streaming conferencing and voip podcasting soundshopping
mixing and shaping the flow
- improvements of the soundsignal
- noise suppression
- encoding to mp3.
which means taking the acoustic transfer and stylesheet which is defined by psychoacoustic signal.
networked audiosources
computers or mailboxes which share and receive audiofile and play them to their speakers.
voiceweb
interconnected channels for audiosignals which mainly contain spoken words. soundscapes of connectet users. searchable audiosignals like http://podscope.com
sorting the flow
word wide web
audio information is a part of the worldwide woven web of informations like text is it today or tommorow.
