Mesh networks have the property of being decentralized, self-healing and can be open to everyone. But so far these have been limited to small islands. Larger networks are held together via a central server.
"Mesh the Plant" is intended to be an open forum for exchange/discussion on community mesh networks (e.g. Freifunk, LibreMesh) and technologies such as batman-adv, Babel, OLSR, Yggdrasil, etc.. There will be a small introduction of the topics.
