Anyone who has been given “god mode” on day one of a job knows that system administrators have a lot of power. But what kind of power is it? How could it be used effectively in the context of labor or political struggles?

Anyone who has been given “god mode” on day one of a job knows that system administrators have a lot of power. But what kind of power is it? How could it be used effectively in the context of labor or political struggles?

The goal of the session is to have a lively discussion about these possibilities.

The workshop has three parts:

Introduce some examples of past/current labor struggles Analyze system administrators’ potential power Discuss concrete steps The Tech Workers Coalition is a grassroots organization which empowers tech workers to build collective power and get involved in campaigns that make a positive impact on our society. Tech won’t save us. Organize!
