What is Milliways?
In "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" the "Milliways" is a restaurant at the end of the universe. The guests experience the end of the universe and then rewind time by the help of turbines.
In Bremen, Germany, some people are sharing their apartment and call it "Milliways". The "Milliways" also is some kind of hacker community of people that are part of the dn42 project and are interested in virtualization, jabber and ipv6.
What are we doing?
- EED: Engelsystem-Emergency-Desk - msquare, jplitza and helios are available for security patches on the engelsystem. msquare will also do some development and studies to bring this system to the future.
- Congress Dashboad: morpheus is developing a realtime dashboard with data provided by the NOC, POC and Streaming Crew. Example from dreamhack 2011: [[1]]
- dn42 wiki: the current wiki-art (trac) is competely....ugly. So lets invent a new one.
- dn42 dns: DNS is a bad topic since the __one__ official DNS-server is offline. So lets invent a new system!
- dn42 help: We will help anyone who wants to participate dn42 and doesn't know how.
- dn42 CI: We want to create a new corporate identity for the dn42 network
- TwitterStream: We want to build a realtime parser for the Twitter realtime API which provides a realtime stream of 10% of all tweets worldwide. We are interested in analyzing the data and try to extract what important events are happening worldwide by finding anomalies to the usual twitter data.
