Description The annual Privacy Enhancing Technologies Symposium (PETS) brings together privacy and anonymity experts from around the world to discuss recent advances and new perspectives. PETS addresses the design and realization of privacy services for the Internet and other data systems and communication networks. PETS 2016 will be held July 19–22 2016 in Darmstadt, Germany.

The academic conference is accompanied by a day of HotPETS: The ambition of the Workshop on Hot Topics in Privacy Enhancing Technologies (HotPETs) is to foster new ideas, spirited debates, as well as controversial perspectives on privacy (and lack thereof). Short, written proposals describe a 10-15 minute talk on hot topics in privacy enhancing technologies (PETs), to be followed by a 5-10 minute question period. The nature of HotPETs' discussion-oriented format is especially suited to work in progress, practical implementations of privacy enhancing technologies, and new ideas that have not yet been fully formed.

The conference specifically invites people from outside the traditional academia to submit ideas for HotPETS.
