Have you always wanted to stand in front of a large audience and bring your knowledge, incredible experience, projects, ideas, hacks, or stories to the stage? Now is your chance! The Lightning Talks at 39C3 open the floodgates for you.

Here are the rules:

You have 5 minutes for your presentation. After that, your time is up, and you are welcome to continue philosophising with all interested creatures in your assembly, while helping out as an angle or hanging out in the lounge, but unfortunately no longer on stage :/
Theoretically, registration is open until 28/29 December. However, time slots are limited and will be allocated on a “first come, first served” basis (The exception proves the rule).

So get typing! Get your slides ready and submit your Lightning Talk! Every idea is welcome. We look forward to hearing about your projects and stories. The Lightning Talks are for everyone: We have three blocks that are broadly open to any creative submission. However, one block is reserved specifically for Lightning Talks with a focus on sustainability. So let us hear why your project, idea or vision is particularly committed to a sustainable future!

Lightning Talks?

Did you assume that the thrill of sharing your ideas in front of a huge audience at a C3 was something you’d never experience? Do you work on a cool project and want to get the word out? Was your talk one of the hundreds that got rejected? Did you come up with an awesome hack that you need to share? Go ahead and enter your Lightning Talk now!

The 38C3 Lightning Talks consist of two fast-paced sessions that are perfect for pitching new software or hardware projects, exploits, creative pranks or strange ideas you need to get out to a global audience. Even if you don’t have an awesome idea or project to share, a lightning talk is perfect for pitching your assembly, your workshop or even a longer talk you’ll give as a self-organized session. Your five minutes of fame!

In theory, registration is open until the the day before the last session (28 Dec for the 29 Dec session). However, we only have a limited number of time slots and we assign these on a “first come, first served” basis. Lightning Talks for last-minute participants

Once again, we’re doing everything differently and yet a little like last year. Perhaps people are running out of time to prepare a talk or you have always wanted to give a “small” talk: Here is our offer.

All beings are welcome to #nowhere at #rC3 on the R3S stage to give short lightning talks. And how is that going to work so close to the event? Sign up (in the pad).

You have time for one of the following sessions:

Session 1: 27.12.2021 - Day 1: 23:00 - 00:00 hrs.
Session 2: 28.12.2021 - Day 2: 23:30 - 00:30
Session 3: 30.12.2021 - Day 4: 14:30 - 15:30

You will need a few slides including: Title of the talk, nickname, desired session, contact details. Your talk must be no longer than 5 minutes and must not include videos and/or animation with sound. No face will be shown, only your slides. Please be at the Mumble linked in the pad at least 20 minutes before the start so that we can briefly try out your technique and set up the talk. We will explain everything else to you in this room.

By participating, you agree that your talk is licensed under (at least) Creative Commons CC-BY 4.0. You also agree that your talk can be streamed on multiple sites and published on media.ccc.de among others.

Lightning Talks at the 27c3

Want four minutes on stage at the 27c3? You can have it! Registration is now open for the Lightning Talk sessions at the 27c3.

Taking place at 12:45 in Saal 3 on Days 2, 3 and 4, these fast paced sessions are perfect for pitching new software or hardware projects, exploits, creative pranks or strange ideas you need to share with the world.

Lightning talks are also good for getting publicity for your workshop at the 27c3, or for recruiting people to join in on things like a high calorie flash mob.

In order to maximize the available time, registrations will be granted to presenters who submit their graphics (i.e. slides, background picture, contact info, etc.) in advance. Exceptions will be made very selectively on a case-by-case basis. Register soon, as we anticipate the available slots will go quickly. (Proposals started coming in a few minutes after we put up a draft of the wiki page!)
