DIDAYS 2026 Hamburg

The CCC Hansestadt Hamburg and the Wau Holland Foundation are hosting the first Digital Independence Days in Hamburg from October 2 to 4, in collaboration with Hamburg neighborhood initiatives, maker and hackerspaces, and other civil society organizations from the region. You can look forward to a program focused on digital independence: messaging apps, office suites, and your own cloud.

tl;dr: From October 2–4, 2026, there will be three days of DIDAYS at the Kultur Palast Harburg. Find all the details at didays.de

Digital Independence

In December 2025, the Digital Independence Day initiative was launched to show everyone ways to become independent from Big Tech: better messaging apps, better office software, and independent clouds. In over 100 cities in Germany and beyond, there are regular events held on the first Sunday of every month featuring talks, workshops, and discussion sessions. And on DIDAY.org, you’ll find plenty of information on how to make the switch to more open alternatives yourself.

The goal is to help you become more competent and self-reliant when using modern technology.

DIDAYS – a Weekend of Digital Self-Determination in Hamburg

Over the weekend of October 2–4, we’ll cover these and other topics in a compact format: talks, workshops, and discussions among interested participants. In addition to the practical “how”, we also want to discuss social and political issues, such as the impact of artificial intelligence or the digitization of Hamburg’s city and government.

We’ve secured the Kultur Palast Harburg (formerly Rieckhof) as our venue. From Friday afternoon through Sunday afternoon, visitors will have the opportunity to learn, through talks and workshops, how they can become more independent. Admission is free, of course.

The program is designed for people who want to drop by more or less spontaneously for a few hours and “check it out.”

Contact and Info

You can find all the information at https://didays.de/. If you have any requests or suggestions, feel free to email us at orga@didays.de.

Would your group like to participate? Then feel free to check out our invitation for groups.

tl;dr Easterhegg 2025: CfP is here

Easterhegg 2025 will take place from 18 April to 21 April 2025 in Hamburg.
Once again, there will be four days of workshops, talks and other events.
This time, everything revolves around the motto “Unhandled Eggception” – and we are looking forward to your creative, technical and extraordinary interpretations of it.
The Call for Participation is therefore open and will accept your submissions until (and including) 1 March 2025.

Easterhegg is a friendly community event where we can get to know each other and brainstorm new ideas together.
It is the perfect opportunity to present your topic to an interested and colorful audience in an informal atmosphere or to plan entirely new projects together.

We are looking forward to receiving your submissions for lectures, workshops or art projects.
The submission should include a meaningful title and an informative short description.
If your workshop only works with a limited number of participants or if you need specific equipment, please let us know:

https://cfp.eh22.easterhegg.eu/eh22/cfp

Additionally, there will be rooms available for self-organized sessions, which you will be able to submit via the wiki at a later time.

Further information about the event will be published on our website shortly and if you have more questions, feel free to ask them at orga@eh22.easterhegg.eu.

Hey! What about the tickets for 29C3?

As we had a lot of people asking, here some answers:

Q: How much will the tickets cost?
A: Our priority is to keep the price for the tickets as low as in the years before. So we currently assume that it will be around 80 Euros — as it was last year.

Q: What if I can not afford that?
A: There will be a friend’s request address as we had it before. More details coming with the start of the presale.

Q: But what is this friend’s request?
A: At 28C3 we handled it like this. Have a look.

Q: Ah, there will be a presale for tickets?
A: Yes, there will be a presale to buy a ticket in advance.

Q: So I have to set up my presale scripts again?
A: No, the new venue in Hamburg should be really big enough to fit all of us. Your time will be better invested if you start thinking about what you and/or your project/hackerspace/group could do with all that space!

Q: Why do you always say “There will be…”?
A: Please have a look outside — it’s still summer, isn’t it? Nevertheless your congress team is already working hard to make the congress possible again. So please be patient. If you keep an eye on this blog you won’t miss any information on tickets and presale.
