You can look forward to a program focused on digital independence: messaging apps, office suites, and your own cloud.</p> <p><strong>tl;dr:</strong> From October 2–4, 2026, there will be three days of DIDAYS at the <a href="https://www.kulturpalast-harburg.com">Kultur Palast Harburg</a>. Find all the details at <a href="https://didays.de">didays.de</a></p> <h2 id="digital-independence">Digital Independence</h2> <p>In December 2025, the <a href="https://diday.org">Digital Independence Day</a> initiative was launched to show everyone ways to become independent from Big Tech: better messaging apps, better office software, and independent clouds. In over 100 cities in Germany and beyond, there are <a href="https://events.diday.org">regular events held on the first Sunday of every month</a> featuring talks, workshops, and discussion sessions. And on <a href="https://diday.org">DIDAY.org</a>, you’ll find plenty of information on how to make the switch to more open alternatives yourself.</p> <p>The goal is to help you become more competent and self-reliant when using modern technology.</p> <h2 id="didays--a-weekend-of-digital-self-determination-in-hamburg">DIDAYS – a Weekend of Digital Self-Determination in Hamburg</h2> <p>Over the weekend of October 2–4, we’ll cover these and other topics in a compact format: talks, workshops, and discussions among interested participants. In addition to the practical “how”, we also want to discuss social and political issues, such as the impact of artificial intelligence or the digitization of Hamburg’s city and government.</p> <p>We’ve secured the <a href="https://www.kulturpalast-harburg.com">Kultur Palast Harburg</a> (formerly Rieckhof) as our venue. From Friday afternoon through Sunday afternoon, visitors will have the opportunity to learn, through talks and workshops, how they can become more independent.
