Grab some popcorn and settle into your seat: FSCK Episode IV is coming to the Universum Cinema in Backnang on 8–10 May 2026! Enjoy exciting talks, hang out at the Hackcenter, and find out what goes on behind the scenes at a movie theater. Rumour has it there will also be an exclusive film screening …

You’ll have the chance to hack and network freely at the Hackcenter. You can also listen to talks in a real cinema setting – and you’ll even have the opportunity to deliver your own talk in style, right in a real movie theater. That way, your talk will be a huuuge success. Proposals can be submitted until 12 April 2026, 23:23 via the CfP. We also welcome workshop submissions!

What on earth is that?

The Digital Freedom Days are a free conference and a hacking event, They are organised by Chaostreff Tübingen and friends. The Digital Freedom Days are aimed not only at techies, but at anyone with a passion for discovering new things, meeting people and with the desire to live a free and self-determined life together. That’s why this year’s motto is “Encrypting Free Spaces”. The aim is to strengthen civil society projects and groups, whilst of course having lots of fun. Spread across four floors, there will be talks, workshops, projects, art, a party, delicious food and of course plenty of chatting and hacking.

The event location is the Westspitze (Eisenbahnstraße 1), about a 5-minute walk from the main station.

First InselChaos: Invitation & Call for Participation

The Baltic Sea. Family vacations, nudist beaches, fish sandwiches, sand between your toes and seagulls in the air. For many, it’s a relaxing vacation spot; for us, it’s the best location for the saltiest chaos event in Mecklenburg–Western Pomerania!

After the first InselChaos in 2025 impacted like a seagull on a fish sandwich, we have no choice but to repeat the experience in 2026. Or as visitors would say: “There’s already a postcard waiting for you at C3Post for InselChaos 2026, you have no choice but to come!”

InselChaos 2026 will take place on 4–6 September 2026 at La Grange in Bergen on the beautiful island of Rügen, combining art, hacking, music, and the chaos community. La Grange offers an extraordinary atmosphere for exchanging ideas about technology, society, and creativity, just 20 minutes from the beach on the Baltic Sea. Whether on the stage, in the chill-out area, or in the cozy outdoor space – everyone will find a place and opportunity to express their thoughts and creativity.

Of course, an event like this depends on the Chaos community. In addition to the ticket shop, the Call for Participation is now open. We welcome all kinds of topics and formats, be it lectures, workshops, or whatever else you would like to help to shape. Feel free to write to us – we make (almost) anything possible.

So: Pack your swimming trunks and your favourite microcontrollers and come to InselChaos 2026 on Rügen.

Easterhegg 2026 – tickets, merch, and more

TL;DR: A new year – a new Easterhegg. This year it will be happening at the University of Koblenz on 3–6 April. This year’s Easterhegg motto is “The Bunny is a Lie!”

Call for Participation

To make this a really great event, all we need is your submission! If you want to share your expertise, the latest developments in one of your projects, or maybe even something completely different, you can submit your contribution to us until 27 February. We will be happy to set the stage for your contribution.

In general, when submitting your contribution, please ensure that the description and title are meaningful. If special equipment, instructions, or a limit to the number of participants are important for your submission, please indicate this directly with your submission. This will allow us to support you directly with your submission and make all necessary preparations with you.

Supporter ticket (refinances the Friends ticket and gives us a little more breathing room in our calculations)
Young hacker ticket (young people under 18)
Friends ticket (if someone cannot afford the full ticket price)
Children under 12 years of age (free of charge – simply add to one of the other tickets as an add-on)

39C3 — Community Stages: Everything remains different

You surely remember the two community stages at 38C3 and the great programme there, which was submitted by the community and curated by the habitats. There will be no community stages this year. Instead, we decided to add a new community track and a fourth stage to the main programme, and we also provide a further stage for talks in the context of Self-Organized Sessions.

Why did we make this change?

Short explanation: you were just too good!

Long explanation: The quality of the talks on the community stages was practically in no way inferior to those in the main programme. Looking back, we realised that a two-tier programme and parallel structures for content selection would make no sense in the long run. As a replacement, we’re integrating the community concept via a new track, “Chaos Community Creations”, directly and visibly in the main programme. For this purpose we have added more room at CCH with a further stage, so we can now present talks on four stages.

If you have already thought about submitting content on the community stages, just head over to the CfP for 39C3 and choose the track “CCC – Chaos Community Creations”.

For the new track Chaos Community Creations, we are looking for contributions from the community for the community: Are you planning a big new Chaos event? Have you implemented a mega-exciting project in your local hack space? Have you established a fruitful cooperation with groups, clubs, or associations outside of Chaos?

Then submit a proposal to us! We are looking forward to all the things you would like to share with the community!

And for all the interesting things that don’t fit in there or that you only come across after the CfP deadline on 24 October, there’s something else we can offer:

For the first time this year, there will be an extra “SOS” stage for spontaneous talks and other last-minute formats (without recording or streaming via the VOC). This stage will probably be set up in hall H, very close to many habitats and assemblies.

We would be very pleased if you support these changes and if you would like to use them to showcase your ideas and views more visibly. Let’s get together to make 39C3 even more diverse, inclusive, and interesting!

Lectures, music, art, punk: Join us at the 39th Chaos Communication Congress!

We invite you to enrich our programme with your lectures and the 39C3 with music, art, and punk. The call for participation in four fields is now online.

The Chaos Computer Club (CCC) is inviting to the 39th Chaos Communication Congress in Hamburg at the end of December and is now asking for your ideas for lectures. You can also support the best hacker party of the year with your music and art performances and with punk.

Please read our Call for Participation carefully, before submitting ideas. It includes practical tips and guidance on how to best present your submission and how to avoid common mistakes.

We are planning presentations on four stages. We will therefore select around 130 presentations from your submissions, in the following tracks:

Chaos Community Creations
Hardware & Making
Ethics, Society & Politics
Science
Security & Hacking

Please note: We are publishing four different calls for participation today. If you submit proposals for stage presentations, music performances, art installations, or punk at our Späti, please do so via the respective calls.

The deadline for all submissions for the stages is October 24, 2025, at 23:59 UTC. We plan to notify accepted speakers by early November. 39C3 will take place from December 27 to 30.

NooK 2025: Call for Participation

Every November, the Nights of Open Knowledge take place in Lübeck – and starting now, the Call for Participation for NooK 2025 is open! You can submit workshops, talks, lightning talks, booths, and meetups.

Submissions are open until 28 September.

As always, the theme is everything! At NooK, archaeology meets climate research, cycling infrastructure meets open data, and digital self-defence meets planting trees. NooK is a place to share your knowledge and to make it accessible to all.

This diverse range of topics is only possible because of people who are passionate about their subject and want to share it. So we need you!

NooK also is a place for you if you don’t have much experience giving talks (yet). We’d love to encourage you to contribute your ideas.

Plot

Chaostreff Backnang is going to stage a hacking event on 9–11 May in the Murr metropolis of Backnang, in the heart of Swabia. The guest list includes all tech-savvy hackers who have always wanted to spend an entire weekend at the movies. The further course of the plot depends on the protagonists. There will be opportunities for free hacking and networking in the hack center. In addition, lectures and workshops will feature throughout the weekend. For this purpose, a part of the cinema will be transformed into a hack center and a lecture hall for three days. You will have the chance to give your presentation in style in a real cinema hall. This way, your presentation will be a huuuge success. Proposals for this can be submitted via the CfP until 6 April 2025, 23:42.

First InselChaos: Invitation & Call for Participation

Easterhegg 2025: Call for Participation

Easterhegg 2025 will take place from 18 April to 21 April 2025 in Hamburg. Once again, there will be four days of workshops, talks and other events. This time, everything revolves around the motto “Unhandled Eggception” – and we are looking forward to your creative, technical and extraordinary interpretations of it. The Call for Participation is therefore open and will accept your submissions until (and including) 1 March 2025.

Easterhegg is a friendly community event where we can get to know each other and brainstorm new ideas together. It is the perfect opportunity to present your topic to an interested and colorful audience in an informal atmosphere or to plan entirely new projects together.

We are looking forward to receiving your submissions for lectures, workshops or art projects. The submission should include a meaningful title and an informative short description. If your workshop only works with a limited number of participants or if you need specific equipment, please let us know:

38C3 Chaos Computer Music Club

We are calling for music nerds who want to perform for other music nerds at the 38C3 Chaos Computer Music Club and at the Chill Floor.

Whether you’ve built your own instrument, use technology in imaginative ways to express yourself with music, are a contemporary DJ emitting genre highlights far outside the mainstream, a band with a constructive political message, or anything in between, we are calling for you to present at 38C3 – from A like Ambient to Z like Zydeco.

Please note that 38C3 is not a music event and we can not pay you as much as you might usually expect to receive on the market.

We are also calling for workshops and talks! If you have an interest in something between music and hacking, and maybe you’ve always wanted to talk about it, we will be happy to hear from you.

To submit your proposals for DJ sets, concerts, talks or workshops, please head over to the Call for Music. If you already submitted to the Call for Art you do not need to submit again. We’ll forward your submission internally. The deadline is 30 November, 23:59 UTC+1.

38C3 Community Stages – Call for Participation

For the three major stages at 38C3, the Call for Participation has just concluded. Many great talks have been submitted and the content team is already reviewing them.

As every year, we have had to consider how to curate the other two stages. We found a solution: habitats located around these stages will curate a program together. A team of volunteers has quickly formed to brainstorm tracks, adding their own unique focuses and accents.

The Community Content Team is now looking forward to your contributions – the full call can be found here. Please note that speakers in this part of the programme will neither receive a free ticket nor travel support. You will need to get your own tickets.

The community programme shares the Congress motto “38C3: Illegal Instructions” and has space for around 80 contributions across various tracks, aimed at sparking the exchange of ideas and improving the world, with a touch of entertainment. Some talks will neither be streamed nor recorded.

The deadline for submissions is 16 November 2024, 23:59 UTC+1.

The Call for Participation has started

As we announced on our website, the Call for Participation for the Congress has started. We ask you for your talks and presentations, to make this Congress the most exciting and interesting hacker event of the year. You can find the call here, please familiarize yourself with the notes before submitting something.

According to the motto “38C3: Illegal Instructions” we want to offer a platform for about 130 contributions, divided into five tracks, that want to give impulses for exchange and making this world better.

NooK 2024: Call for Participation

This year, the Nights of Open Knowledge will once again take place in November at the Audimax of the University of Lübeck. You can now offer your talks, lightning talks, workshops, and booths until 30 September.

The theme, as always, is everything!

In previous years, there have been exciting talks and workshops on a wide range of topics, including insights into current research, archaeology, climate, and computer science, as well as medicine, lifestyle, and open source. So, practically everything! Such a diverse range of talks is only possible thanks to people who are passionate about their topics and want to share their knowledge – so we need you!

The NooK is also a place for you, especially if you don’t have much experience with giving talks yet. We are excited if we can motivate you to contribute ideas.

MRMCD24: Call for Participation

We’re looking for crew members of all IT-Fields and would be happy if you could help us discovering the digital oceans.

Our focus lies – among other things – on network navigation and cryptography, the development of free software above and below sea level and the use of autonomous nautic drones.

The MRMCD dockyard has one of the biggest centers for the recovery of sunk costs, as well as a locksmith’s shop to stuff data leaks and vulnerabilities. That’s why it’s the ideal environment to advance your nautic research projects.

The interests of our participants spans across all fields of information technology – and beyond. You can find our ship’s logbook and past years’ destinations in our archive.

Are you ready for a new adventure? Then grab your rubber duckies and head for MRMCD!

Please sunmit your proposals until 28 July 2024 via our portal. We appreciate your ideas, even if they don’t quite fit our theme. All proposals will receive feedback until 12 August whether they were accepted. As speakers you can look forward to our famous all-round treatment in the officers’ mess.

The MetaRhineMainChaosDays (MRMCD) are an annual conference by the Chaos Computer Club that started in 2004. It is organised by the non-profit MRMCD in cooperation with local hackspaces, CCC groups and regional universities. This year, the conference will take place during the first October weekend (3–6 October) in the Piloty building (S2|02) of the Technical University Darmstadt.
