We’d like to make your travel to camp as smooth and relaxing as possible and have therefore in the following blog post done a detailed writeup of the different modes of travel to camp. A big thank you to everyone who took part in our survey! It’s been a great help.

Bassliner Shuttlebus from Berlin and Hamburg
Following a similar route to last Camp, we’ve organized shuttle services from Berlin and Hamburg. All tours will get you directly to Camp location and back after the event. There is no silly luggage restriction, as all buses come with luggage trailers.

One-way-tickets from Berlin are 13€ and Hamburg costs 23€. Detailed instructions and the booking system are on the bassline website: https://bassliner.org/reiseziel/ccc/.

IMPORTANT: The bus schedule is based on the feedback from the survey. More times can be added, should you’re ideal route not be in the list.

More Bassliners from your city and your time/date
Bassliner offers to do buses from all German cities at your requested date. Key requirement is that you have at least 25 people bindingly committed to the tour. We’ve created a wiki page to help you find 24 other people in your city. All other info can be found there.
IMPORTANT: Deadline for all extra tours is Saturday, the 10.08.2019 23:42 CEST.

By Train ..
As with every CCC Event, there is a DB Event ticket for the Camp.

If you are younger than 27, you may also use the DB Summerticket, which is only 99,60€. There are 4 journeys on it and you can add a detour to some friends or add a stop at the Verstehbahnhof.

.. to Gransee station continuing by public transport bus or shuttle bus to camp

The train station Gransee is being serviced hourly by the RE5 train from Berlin. From there a public transport bus (line 854) drives to Camp (Ziegeleipark) at 10:40, 11:40 and 12:40 daily.

We’ve organized an additional shuttle service, since 3 buses won’t provide enough capacity.
Tickets cost € 3,50. Times are:

on the 19.08. 16:00, 17:00 and 18:00
on the 20.08., 21.08. and 25.08.from 14:00 until 20:00 (min. 1 x / hour if needed more frequently)
on the 26.08. from 9:00 until 14:00 (min. 1 x / hour, if needed more frequently)

.. to Zehdenick station continuing by public transport bus to camp
You can check the buses (line 838) from Zehdenick station on the Brandenburg public transport website, which will get you straight to Camp (Ziegeleipark).

By CAR
The address for your sat nav can be found in the wiki.

Extrapolating the numbers from our survey, we expect about 2000 private cars! Please double check if Bassliner or public transport might be possible, as it saves parking spaces and helps our environment. Should you have spare space in your car, please consider adding it to the ride sharing/ hitchhiking wiki page!

Please be aware that no cars will be allowed to stay on the camp site and time and space for loading and unloading will be limited. We ask you to carry light luggage onto the event site. We’re trying to source some carts to help with moving luggage.

By bicycle
The Berlin – Kopenhagen long-distance cycling route runs past camp after ~97km from Berlin. The route is part of D11 as well as EuroVelo 7. The Berlin-Kopenhagen bike route is both scenic as well as separated from cars. It runs through forests and along the river Havel. The whole route is properly tarmacked and road bike friendly.

Anyone not keen on the full distance can take the tube to Oranienburg station. cycle along the B273 eastwards until you hit the Havel and then join the Berlin-Kopenhagen route for 42km.

Arrival by train, starting at 89,- Euro to 28c3

The German railway company, Deutsche Bahn, has kindly allotted us a quota of special price train tickets. Additionally, they are even cheaper then last year.

Compared to last year, you can now choose between four types of tickets: fixed tickets (you have to choos a train at the time of booking your ticket) and regular tickets (you hop on every train you like), bookable on- and offline, first or second class.

Online:

1. class, fixed: 89,00 Euro
1. class, fixed: 149,00 Euro

Offline:

1. class, fixed: 99,00Euro
1. class, fixed: 159,00 Euro
Regular ticket: add 20,00 Euro
Only bookable by calling +49 (0)1805 / 31 11 53

Features of your train-ticket:

Valid for a round-trip: Any DB-Station > Berlin > Any DB-Station
Earliest possible day of travel: 23.12.2011
Last possible day of travel: 04.01.2012
Exchange/Refund-fee before first day of ticket-validity: 15 Euro
Bookable 92 days before first day of travel, at earliest the 18.10.2011
Ticket can be purchased until 3 days prior departure
Fixed tickets only available while supplies last
Regular tickets are available without limitation.
Seating-reservation is not included and subject to further charges.

The tickets may only be booked by calling the following DB-Hotline: +49 (0)1805 / 31 11 53 (except online-tickets. Those can – obviously – only be booked online). State “28C3” or “Chaos Communication Congress” at time of booking. (This call costs you 0,14 Euro from German landline, cellphone and foreign calls may be a lot more expensive).

All booked tickets have to be payed by direct debit or credit card – afterwards you can collect them as “BahnTix” at any DB-vendingmachine near you. Onlinetickets will be delivered as PDF or (with additional costs) by snailmail..

BahnCard 25- and BahnCard 50-rebate is not granted on this tickets. You can’t buy this tickets on board of the train. Change of class is not possible.

Special 27C3-Offer

Booking starts Thursday, 21.10.2010!

DB is offering you a special ticket for your travel from “Any DB-Station” > Berlin > “Any DB-Station”. You can book it by calling +49 (0)1805 / 31 11 53 and stating the Code “27C3” or “Chaos Communication Congress”. The Hotline is available Monday to Saturday 08:00-21:00 o’clock and cost you 0,14Euro/minute from german Telecom landline (T-Com) - from german cellphone network max. 0,42Euro/minute.

You will need to tell the guy on the phone your creditcard or german bankaccount-number (“Lastschrift”) in order to book and pay the ticket. They won’t send you your ticket by snailmail, you have to get your “BahnTix” at a DB-Vending-Machine (further instructions)

Please remember: You have to book at least 3 days prior traveling!

You can choose between different types of tickets.

Timeframe

First possible day of travel: 25.12.2010
Last possible day of travel: 02.01.2011

The ticket is not valid for travel before or after this timeframe!

Fixed Ticket (“Zugbindung”)

A “fixed ticket” (in german called “with Zugbindung”) means, that you have to choose your train at the time of booking and have to stick to it!

2nd class: EUR 99,00
1st class: EUR 159,00

Although, when the Deutsche Bahn messes up your connection (as opposed to messing it up yourself like by being too late), for example when your train is delayed and in consequence you miss your connecting train, you can have your ticket signed by the conductor or at the next DB Service Point or DB Reisezentrum and then you’re not bound to your booked trains anymore. But remember, only when it wasn’t your own fault!

Normal Ticket

You don’t have to choose a train, you just get in and you’re done.

2nd class: EUR 119,00
1st class: EUR 179,00

Exchange/Return policy/Stuff

You can exchange or return this tickets until one day bevor the day of travel for a fee of EUR 15,00. After this moment, you’re out of luck. Seat reservations are never refunded.

Additional rebates (Bahncard, businesstravel-rebates, etc.) are not applied.

The use of night trains (DB Nachtzug) or ICE Sprinter is subject to additional fare!

Anonymous ticket

You don’t want to tell DB your creditcard- oder bankaccount-number but still want the ticket?

In that case, please find someone else to pay directly for your ticket, as the hotline is the only official way to buy this ticket.

If you are working at a DB-Agentur and want to sell these tickets anonymously to other people, please contact Martin@muc.ccc.de, and we will set you up with the relevant booking-information for NVS. Please remember, that selling this ticket won’t increase your agency-revenue according to the new provision model introduced by DB-Vertrieb.

Group travel

If you are more than 6 persons that want to travel by train, you may want to check DB Gruppe und Spar. You can check the availability of reduced tickets (There is a 30%, 40%, 50%, 60% or 70% discount) and contact DB directly for booking.

Individual Travel

Lookout for Sparpreis-Tickets, that are available from EUR 19 to EUR 99 (2nd class)/ EUR 49 to EUR 149 (1st class).

Look close - sometimes booking your ticket in 1st class will result in a cheaper fare than in 2nd class! Save more

Do you know someone who works at a big company like (for example) Siemens or is member of the “Pfadfinder”? Ask them to book your ticket, they can provide you with an additional 10% discount on regular priced tickets (no Sparpreis) - that includes even tickets with Bahncard-discount.

People in Munich can contact User:Martin for buying 10%-discounted tickets directly in Munich.

Berlin Public Transportation

You might want to note, that “Einzelfahrausweise” (One-Way-Tickets) that are validated on weekends during December are valid for not only one journey but the whole week-end. Remember: Only during December, and only on week-ends!

Please also keep in mind, that fares for Berlin public transportation will increase on January, 1st. If you stay during new years eve in Berlin, you may want to buy all needed tickets in December. Please note, that “old” tickets are only valid for about 3 months after a fare-raise.
