Fundamentals and Frequently Asked Questions

Photos / Videos

Ask everybody in the picture whether they agree to be photographed or filmed. Inform them if you want to publish the picture anywhere. It follows that shots from the stage towards the audience and long shots in the hackcenters, assemblies and the other public areas are not possible! Please note that we might ask photographers and film teams to leave if they don’t respect this.

Buildup

Please do not publish pictures of art installations, decorations or similar during buildup. Most artists disagree to publishing before the event started. Do not spoil the surprise for others.

Basic Provisions

Where can I find something to eat and drink?

There will be bars, and most likely also commercial food vendors. In addition, Messe Hamburg is located quite centrally within Hamburg, so you will have no trouble finding restaurants and supermarkets within walking distance or a few public transport stops away.

There will be food for volunteers at the Heaven kitchen.

Where can I smoke/vape?

Only outside of the building, not directly at the doors.

Smoking, vaping, the use of electronic cigarettes and similar devices is prohibited inside the venue. It is especially also prohibited in the underground car park.

Please keep some distance from the doors, so that creatures can enter or exit without having to pass through clouds of smoke/vapor.

Please use the provided ashtrays, or bring a portable one.

Which methods of payment are available?

Please expect that most services will only accept payment in cash.
Also, keep in mind that local ATMs are likely to be overloaded by the number of Congress participants, so make sure to bring enough cash.

Where is the next ATM?

The nearest “Volksbank” ATM is 5 minutes by foot from the CCH entrance.
1. Follow the park fence heading to the train station
2. Continue to Stephansplatz
3. Enter the subway station across Stephansplatz to find the underground ATM.
The nearest “Sparkasse” ATM is 12 minutes by foot.
1. Get to the other side of the railway tracks, by walking through the passage next to Radisson hotel or through Dammtor station.
2. Cross the street (Edmund-Siemers-Allee), then turn left and walk along the same street (Edmund-Siemers-Allee) towards Uni(versity of) Hamburg.
3. Where the road splits into Bundesstraße (half-left) and Grindelallee (half-right), follow Grindelallee. You will need to cross to the other side of Grindelallee though, which you can do now or later.
4. The ATM is under the roof of the HaSpa (Hamburger Sparkasse) building at the 3rd intersection to the left. (Intersection Grindeallee/Rentzelstraße/Grindelhof)

Where can I store my valuables?

You will need to take care of your valuables yourself. Up to now very few things have been stolen at CCC events, but as our events grow bigger the number of jerks probably rises proportionally.

As far as we currently know, there won’t be any lockers at venue. The nearest publicly usable lockers are at Dammtor railway station.

While at Congress, you can ask your friendly neighbour to watch out for your stuff, lock it in a car, or carry it with you.

Getting things to Congress (and back)

Ideally, carry your items with you when you travel, or arrange for them to be transported by your friends or other helpful beings.

If you need to receive or send something by mail, please have it delivered to a post office or drop-off station (e.g. Packstation or similar offers) – keep in mind that locations close to the venue are likely to be overloaded (which may cause your mail to be re-routed to a location further away).

Important: We cannot accept your post or parcels at the venue!

For organizing-related items and larger freight, please contact the logistics team before arranging any deliveries.

Can I come with a campervan/caravan?

Please expect that there will be no camping locations at the venue, and look for a suitable camping area instead.

Where can I sleep?

The venue does not provide space for sleeping, so please make sure to organize suitable accomodation at a hotel, hostel, friendly person’s couch, or similar, in advance.

We have secured a limited amount of affordable options for sleeping at gyms at a nearby school, see affordable sleeping accomodation for details.

On toilets/WCs.

Appr 85% of the toilets are all-gender and therefore open to everyone. Whether you menstruate or not, all toilets are equipped with menstrual products. There are two classically divided toilets, male and female. There are two toilets for ATIN* (agender, trans, inter, and nonbinary) people. You can also see where to find them at c3nav.

Why is this a thing?

There are a wide variety of wishes and needs when it comes to toilets and safe spaces. That's why there are also a few classic m/f and ATIN* toilets, so can be excellent to each other. As you have probably already noticed above, the majority of toilets are for everyone—no matter who, what, or how relief is sought. And if you experience any kind of transphobia, we are here for you and you can turn to us.

Where can I find menstrual products?

These are now available in all toilet vestibules (i.e., by the sinks) and are completely free of charge. Please inform the Heaven ((+49 40 5730830) 1023) when they run out. Unfortunately, not all toilet stalls have trash cans (structurally, these are only available in 50% of the toilets). That's why you can see on the toilet signs whether there are trash cans. There are trash bags containing sanitary bags in the other toilets.

Soldering and (unintentional) smoke machines

The venue has a state-of-the-art smoke detection system that we do not want to set off. So be careful with anything that could cause smoke. (And try to not use your devices in a manner that would cause them to become unintentional smoke machines.) If you want to do anything that causes smoke, ask the Assemblies team if arrangements can be made.

Dogs and other pets

Can I bring my dog?

No (exception: service dogs). We ask everybody not to bring dogs. There are at least three problems we had with dogs at events in the past:

Dogs mark their territory by peeing.
Attendees have problems with dogs – be it allergy or phobia.
Dogs can have problems with people. They get scared in a crowd or by some odours.

Congress is not a good place for pets. Leave your pets at home.

Service dogs are of course allowed and welcomed together with their human companion.

Driving objects

Can I bring a scooter, bicycle, or motorized Mate crate?

Please be sensible and be excellent to each other. At Messe Hamburg, space is still significantly tighter compared to the halls in Leipzig.

This means that 40C3 will require us to be particularly considerate and careful around each other. Using vehicles will be more cumbersome, and also a lot less necessary than you might remember from 34C3–36C3. So please consider simply leaving your personal vehicle at home.

Your means of getting around Congress must always be safe first, and joyful second.

Where can I park my bicycle?

Where can I park my car?

Messe Hamburg provides a number of parking spaces for a fee.

Note that some of the car parks is underground and is only suitable for vehicles up to a maximum height of 1.90 metres.

Also note that there might not be enough spots for everyone to arrive by car, so be prepared to look for (non-obstructive) parking options in the vicinity just in case.

No flying objects are allowed in the area of the event.

Tickets

Tickets will be available for online presale (no on-site sales!) at tickets.events.ccc.de. If you have questions or need help, please check the FAQ below. If you can’t find an answer there, contact us via email.

Presale Mode

The presale takes place in two distinct modes: The Community Sale up to TODO, and the Public Sale with two presale dates. In the first mode, tickets can only be purchased using a voucher (more on this below). In the second mode, tickets will be available for open sale.

If you’d like to know more about the reasons behind this model, head over to our long explanation post from back at 36C3, or in this year’s announcement post(TODO).

Public Presale Dates

No tickets will be sold on-site during the event. The tickets will be available for open presale on tickets.events.ccc.de on the following dates:

If there are tickets left after the public presale, we will open the webshop again at a later date. In this case, the shop will stay open until all tickets are sold (or until just before Christmas, whichever comes first).

Ticket Prices

OUTDATED, prices for 2026 will follow.

Standard Ticket: 190 €
Supporter Ticket: starting at 220 €
Business Ticket: starting at 575 €
Up-and-coming Ticket (U18): 50 € (free admission for children under the age of 12)
Member Ticket (for members of CCC e.V.): 175 €

As always, we’re also offering Friends Tickets: People who cannot afford the Standard Ticket can request a Friends Ticket at a reduced price. The exact price will be determined individually in a conversation with the Friends Ticket team.

We think it’s important to offer the Friends Ticket and the Up-and-coming Ticket. At the same time, we need to reach an average ticket price of 200 € to meet our budget. That’s why we’d like to ask you to buy the Supporter Ticket, if you can. And if your employer is paying for the ticket, please buy a Business Ticket (only Business Ticket owners will receive their invoice prior to the event). It’s only thanks to Supporter tickets and Business tickets that we can offer Friends tickets and Up-and-coming tickets in the first place.

Community Presale

OUTDATED, infos for 2026 will follow.

In the Community Presale, tickets can only be purchased using a voucher. Vouchers are given to:

Groups that are part of the Chaos community (registration deadline TODO). Groups will receive a set of vouchers that will replicate repeatedly (more on how this works below). These vouchers do not guarantee any tickets – once the quota for the Community Mode is sold out, the vouchers will not work anymore.
Angels (volunteers) who worked TODO hours or more during 39C3. Angels will receive one voucher per person, which guarantees a ticket for the full duration of the Community Mode phase, even if the other tickets in the Community Mode are sold out earlier. The voucher will replicate once if there are still tickets available – read more on voucher replication below.

Voucher Replication

Voucher replication works like this: If you use your voucher to buy a ticket, you will receive a new voucher once your order is paid. For group vouchers, this will continue until there are no more tickets left, forming a long chain of vouchers. For angel vouchers, this will happen only once, and the replicated voucher will not replicate further.

The replication process takes place once per day, in the evening. It only takes place on days banks are processing payments. An order has to be 24 hours old before it is eligible for replication, even if it is already paid. We decided on this to give a fairer chance to people from abroad (international bank transfers take time), and in order to not push expensive payment methods like credit cards. Also, this way people do not have to wait for the exact moment the vouchers replicate in order to speed up the process (as not everybody can do this, either).

If you apply for a Friends Ticket in the Community Mode, your voucher will behave like you had just bought a ticket. This means that if it is a replicating voucher (Group or initial Angel voucher), you will receive another voucher when the next replication takes place. This is to make sure that your request won’t hold up a voucher chain, even if your conversation with the Friends Ticket team takes a bit longer. Also, this way it is your own decision whether you disclose to your group that you have applied for a Friends Ticket.

Public Presale

The 40C3 presale can be pretty stressful, so here are is an overview of what to expect at the public presale dates:

First off: There’s typically a big rush, especially on the first presale date. You will need to be very punctual (think seconds, not minutes) to buy a ticket during the public presale.
Before the public presale starts, you will see a page letting you know that the presale will start soon. You will not be able to see the full ticket shop page.
The shop opens automatically at the announced time. You will want to (re-)load the ticket shop page at that time. Quality beats quantity: reloading at the correct time matters, whereas the only result of hammering the ticket shop with reloads is a sad and dying ticket shop server.
Once the public presale has started, you will be placed in a queue for the ticket shop. The queue is expected to move slowly, both to protect our servers and to give people who reach the ticket shop some time to purchase tickets. Please be patient and be prepared for the public presale to take some time. In the past, we have seen times ranging roughly from thirty to sixty minutes. We will try to show you an estimated waiting time, but it’s just that: an estimate, and depending on the server load, it may continue to change.
Once you have reached the end of the queue, you will be redirected to the ticket shop. Reaching the ticket shop does not guarantee a ticket, as the last tickets might be sold just as you reach the shop. Upon reaching the shop, you can either:
1. Purchase your ticket(s). You will be able to put up to two tickets into your shopping cart. In addition, you will be able to purchase up to three Up-and-Coming Tickets (U18). Your shopping cart will be valid for ten minutes. You do not have to pay within these ten minutes, you just have to complete your order.
2. Instead of purchasing a ticket, you can apply for a Friends Ticket at a reduced price. To do so, scroll down and click the button leading you to the Friends application form. You then have ten minutes to fill in your application (so it might be a good idea to prepare the text in advance). After submitting your application, you are done, and the Friends Team will contact you soon.
The available payment methods are bank transfers and credit card payments. You can change your payment method later, so if you’re encountering problems with your credit card, you can select bank transfer as your payment method in order to complete your purchase, and attempt a credit card payment again later.

FAQ

Community Mode

I was an angel at 39C3. How do I get my voucher?: If you were an angel at 39C3 with the required amount of hours worked, and allowed us to contact you via email, you will receive an email with your voucher code. If you did not allow us to contact you via email, you’ll have to contact us before the Community Mode is sold out.
I was an angel at 39C3 and I have the angel shirt to prove it. Why didn’t I get a voucher?: Angel shirts had a different cutoff than the one we’re using for the vouchers. If you’re sure you worked TODO hours or more, and you didn’t receive a voucher, please contact us before the Community Mode is sold out.
I’m a member of CCC. How do I get my voucher?: For the Community Mode, we give vouchers to active parts of our community – membership itself is not a qualifier. You can read more details in our blog post(TODO).
One of our group’s vouchers got leaked / is missing / can’t be used.: The only people with access to a voucher are the people reading the email address receiving the voucher (if a contact email address was provided), and the person who bought the ticket that led to the new voucher’s generation, as the voucher is also displayed on the order page.
I have a voucher. How do I use it?: Your voucher is the key to the ticket shop at tickets.events.ccc.de – scroll to the bottom of the page and enter your voucher code. Each voucher can be redeemed only once, and for one ticket only.
My order is marked as paid, but I didn’t receive a new voucher.: Only orders that are older than 24 hours at the time of replication are eligible for replication. Replication takes place once per day, in the evening, and not during the weekend.

General Questions

I’m a member of the press, a news agency, a documentary filmmaker, etc. Are there press tickets?: Please refer to c3press.de.
How do I buy a ticket?: You can buy a ticket at tickets.events.ccc.de during the public presale dates (see above). Once you’re through the queue, you can buy a ticket. Please note: Experience shows you’ll need to be on time (think seconds, not minutes) to be able to buy a ticket.
I can’t afford a ticket!: We’d love to have you at Congress anyways. After redeeming your Community voucher, or after the queue during the public sale, follow the link at the bottom of the ticket shop page. Write a short message telling us why you’re asking and how much you could pay for a ticket. Please note that during the public sale, you will only have 10 minutes to write this message. The Friends Tickets team will get back to you within a few days.
How many tickets can I buy?: In the open presale, you can buy up to two tickets per cart. We limit cart size to make sure that nobody can snap up all tickets at once. However, Up-and-Coming tickets (U18) do not count towards this limitation, so you can order two regular tickets and as many Up-and-Coming tickets as you need.
I want to bring my kids. Do they need a ticket as well?: Children under the age of 12 can enter the event for free, accompanied by a parent or guardian. For teenagers under the age of 18, we offer the Up-and-Coming tickets at a reduced price.
I’m a disabled person and need a companion. Do they need a ticket as well?: Only you will need a ticket. Your companion can enter the event for free. If you have different companions on different days, please make sure to mention this at the on-site registration.
What’s the difference between the different kinds of Standard/Business tickets?: The difference is how much you’re supporting Congress. We need a higher average ticket price than our minimum price to make the event as awesome as possible. If you buy a ticket for more than the minimum price, you’re also making it possible for us to provide Friends tickets to people who couldn’t afford a ticket otherwise.
Can I work for my ticket? I’ll work XYZ hours!: That’s not how Chaos Communication Congress works: All work is done by participants who have bought a ticket themselves. However, if you can’t afford a ticket, you can request a Friends ticket at a reduced price.
Will there be day passes?: Nope.
Will you sell tickets on-site, once the event starts?: Nope.

Payment and Invoices

How can I pay for my ticket?: We accept bank transfers to our German bank account and credit cards via Stripe.
How long do I have to pay for my ticket?: You have 7 days to pay for your ticket – you’ll find your payment deadline on your order page. Please keep in mind that a wire transfer might take a few days and is only transferred on workdays. If you can’t make the payment deadline, please contact us, or your order will expire.
I paid my ticket, but it’s not marked as paid!: Even with instant bank transfers, banks only really process payments during their working hours / days, so e.g. an instant payment during the weekend will only be properly processed on Monday. If your order has not been marked as paid by the end of the next working day, please contact us.
I accidentally gave a wrong transfer reference for my payment. What should I do?: Please contact us. Include the correct transfer reference and what you wrote accidentally instead, as well as the name of the account owner the money comes from. Please DO NOT send a second transfer.
How do I see if my payment has succeeded?: The payment status is shown on your order page. You will also receive an email when your order is marked as paid. Wire transfers can take a couple of days to come through; Credit card payments are processed almost instantly.
I need an invoice for my ticket. How do I get one?: If you ordered a business ticket, you can download your invoice in the ticket shop immediately. For all other tickets, you’ll receive your invoice at a later date close to the event. Please note: In accordance with German law, invoices with a total below €250 will not contain an invoice adress, as they are valid without (“Kleinbetragsrechnung”).
I want to change my invoice address.: You can change your invoice address on the web interface, and then contact us to reissue the updated invoice. Please note, however, that we are not allowed to change the invoice address to an entirely different entity, i.e. a different company. Please keep also in mind that according to German law, invoices with a total below €250 are valid without a recipient address (“Kleinbetragsrechnung”). This means that invoices for orders below that limit will not contain an invoice address.
I want to supply my VAT ID and get an invoice with 0% VAT for reverse charge.: Reverse charge is not applicable. The place of performance is Hamburg, Germany, thus we have to charge German VAT. You can retrieve your VAT via the VAT reimbursement process.
I need the address of the recipient to initiate an international wire transfer.: The address of the account owner is: Chaos Computer Club Veranstaltungsgesellschaft mbH (CCCV GmbH), Marienstraße 11, 10117 Berlin, Germany.
I need the address of your bank to initiate an international wire transfer.: The address of our bank is: Deutsche Postbank AG, Friedrich-Ebert-Allee 114-126, 53113 Bonn, Germany.
The BIC of your bank does not validate in my bank’s web interface.: The 8 letter BIC PBNKDEFF should be sufficient for payment. If your bank insists that it isn’t, you can use PBNKDEFF100 instead.
Where are your terms and conditions / AGB / cancellation policy?: We do not impose any additional or custom terms on the presale, so the German Civil Code (BGB) applies. Likewise, we do not provide a cancellation policy As per § 312g Abs. 2 Nr. 9 BGB.

Reselling

I don’t need my ticket and I want to re-sell it to somebody else.: Please use our ticket marketplace where you can put your ticket up for sale. You will be able to choose an offering price at or below your original ticket cost. If somebody buys your ticket, you will receive the sales price as a refund, minus a cancellation fee of EUR 5 (to cover for the additional payment, processing and accounting on our end).
I don’t need my ticket and I want to re-sell it to somebody in particular.: To prevent out-of-band scams, like telling people that they will be able to buy a ticket on the official site only after paying an additional amount elsewhere, we only offer completely anonymous ticket sales on the ticket marketplace. If you and the other person know and trust each other, you can just hand them your ticket directly, as the tickets are not personalised.
I have a Friends Ticket and I want to re-sell it to somebody else.: As Friends Tickets are given out due to the personal circumstances of the person requesting them, they are currently not eligible for resale on the marketplace.
Somebody wants to sell me their ticket. Is this legit?: Any ticket offered outside of our ticket marketplace runs the risk of being a scam. We highly recommend that you do not buy tickets outside of the official presale, the official ticket marketplace, or from people who you know well and trust.
There is a ticket on the marketplace that is cheaper than the default ticket price! Is this legit?: Yes! People can choose to sell their ticket at a lower price than they paid (but not at a higher price).

At the event

How can I download my ticket?: We’ll generate the ticket files shortly before the event. You will receive an email as soon as the tickets are available for download.
I don’t own a printer, how can I present my ticket?: You can present your ticket on a mobile device of your choice. If you do, please turn your display to full brightness in advance. You can also choose to download your ticket in Passbook format, which is supported by various smartphone platforms.
When can I arrive at the event?: The registration desk opening hours will be announced here before the event. We will probably open on December 26th in the evening. Queues can be long on the evening of the 26th and particularly on the morning of the 27th, when everybody is arriving for the Opening at the same time. You can see past waiting times at c3queue.de.
I am an artist, a speaker or a member of the press. Do I go to the registration desk?: There will be separate registration desk for you. Please look out for signs at the entrance!
I can’t stand in line for a long time. Can I get a fast lane ticket?: Our queue is usually moving pretty fast and you shouldn’t have to wait for long. However, if the queue is not an option for you, please approach any of the volunteers managing the queue and we will find a solution for you.
The queue is too overwhelming (noise level, too many people, etc.).: Please approach any of the volunteers managing the queue and they will find a solution for you.
I cannot wear a wristband for medical reasons / because of my job.: Please let the volunteers at the registration know about this. We will still have to close the wristband, so make sure to bring something (like a lanyard) that we can attach it to.
I only need my ticket on two days, can I give it to a friend on the other two days?: No. Once you’ve got your wristband, you can’t share it with others.
I didn’t pay my membership fees / I mistakenly bought a member ticket.: You’ll be able to upgrade your ticket to a standard ticket at the registration when redeeming the ticket. Please make sure to bring the difference in cash.

Ganz allgemein: Für viele Menschen mit körperlichen Behinderungen ist das CCH gut zugänglich. Das Congress Center Hamburg ist frisch renoviert und auf dem neuesten Stand der Technik. Es gibt gute Toiletten, Leitsysteme für Blinde und Sehbehinderte und theoretisch ist alles (auch die Bühnen) rollstuhlgerecht. Es gibt dennoch Barrieren für Rollstuhlnutzung.

Wir sind auch bemüht, in begrenztem Umfang kurzfristige Assistenz zur Verfügung zu stellen, die du telefonisch beim Helpdesk anfordern oder in Anspruch nehmen kannst, wenn du persönlich vorbeikommst. Wenn noch Kapazitäten verfügbar und unser Engel frei ist, erhältst du jede einfach machbare Unterstützung, die nicht länger als 30 Minuten in Anspruch nimmt. Diese wird nach dem Prinzip „Wer zuerst kommt, mahlt zuerst“ vergeben und kann z.B. dazu genutzt werden, um von A nach B gebracht zu werden oder um Gespräche zu transkribieren. Hidden Disability-Badges ("Unsichtbare Behinderungen"-Badge)

Es wird Hidden Disability-Badges geben. Diese sind mit deiner Engel-Badge kompatibel (du kannst sie zusammenkleben). Auf das Hidden Disability-Badge kannst du vorgefertigte Sticker (z. B. “sign with me” („Gebärde mit mir“) oder “no flirting” („Kein Flirten“)) kleben oder Notizen und Anweisungen schreiben. Es kann auch gefaltet und umgedreht werden, falls bestimmte Informationen über die Behinderung nicht ständig sichtbar sein sollen oder müssen.

Du kannst auch Aufkleber bekommen, die aussagen, dass lange Warteschlangen für dich überfordernd sind, oder du speziell reservierte Sitzplätze in den Vortragssälen nutzen darfst. (In vielen Fällen reicht es auch, höflich darum zu bitten).

QuietQube und c3auti

c3auti ist ein Mutual Support Team (Englisch, "Gegenseitige Unterstützung"), das Unterstützung für autistische Wesen und alle Teilnehmenden mit ähnlichen Bedürfnissen organisiert. Es gibt einen Ruheraum, einen Meltdown-Raum, Hilfsmittel und emotionale Unterstützung, wenn du sie brauchst.

Das Team organisiert auch den QuietQube. Dabei handelt es sich nicht um einen Ruheraum, sondern um einen gemütlichen Ort zum sozialen Miteinander, in dem sich vom Lärm und den Lichtern des Kongresses erholt werden kann.

Vortragssäle

Vorrang-Plätze (priority seats)

In den Vortragssälen gibt es ausgewiesene Plätze für Menschen mit Behinderungen und spezifischen Bedarfen. Bitte lass diese frei oder gib sie bei Bedarf frei, wenn du die Bedarfe nicht hast.

Da die Bedarfe sehr unterschiedlich sind, sind die Plätze im Saal verteilt.

Pläne für die Säle, die hier nicht aufgeführt sind, werden noch erstellt. Die Informationen werden rechtzeitig aktualisiert.

Hörhilfen

In Saal 1, G und Z kannst du die Originalsprache des Talks über Induktionsschleifen im gesamten Zuschauerraum hören, wenn du kompatible Hörgeräte hast.

Für alle anderen Fälle: - auf Bühnen ohne Hörschleifen, - zum Hören von Übersetzungen, - wenn deine Hörgeräte nicht über Induktion Audio empfangen können, ... gibt es die Live-Audiostreams von c3lingo.org.

Wir empfehlen die Verwendung von kabelgebundenen Kopfhörern: das erhöht die Zuverlässigkeit für dich und hält Bluetooth-Kanäle frei für diejenigen, die kein Kabel verwenden können.

Blinde und sehbehinderte Teilnehmende

Aufgrund des komplexen Veranstaltungsortes, der Menschenmenge und der schwachen Beleuchtung ist der Kongress eine Herausforderung.

Es gibt ein eigenes team, das versucht, das CCH zugänglicher zu machen und blinden und sehbehinderten Wesen die Orientierung zu erleichtern.

Du erreichst c3tactile per email an c3tactile@c3w.at oder im fediverse auf chaos.social/@c3tactile.

Wir werden (wichtige) Orte mit taktilen Schildern kennzeichnen, das Leitsystem ergänzen und taktile Karten des Gebäudes zur Verfügung stellen.

Konventionen Taktiler Beschilderung

Alle Schilder sind 3D-gedruckt mit schwarzem Hintergrund und weißem Text.
Alle Schilder verwenden die deutsche 6-Punkt-Brailleschrift ohne Verkürzungen (Basisschrift).
Profilschrift wird immer in Blockbuchstaben gesetzt.
Dir können deutsche Buchstaben wie Ä,Ö,Ü,ẞ (⠜,⠪,⠳,⠮) begegnen.

Alle Schilder sind nach diesen Regeln erstellt:

Einige Schilder haben QR-Codes:
Der QR-Code befindet sich immer in der unteren rechten Ecke, seine Ränder sind mit rechtwinkligen Linien markiert.

Taktile Türschilder befinden sich, wenn möglich, rechts der entsprechenden Tür, 130 cm über dem Boden.
Die Aufzüge haben im Türrahmen Markierungen, die das aktuelle Stockwerk angeben.
Die Aufzüge sind außerdem mit Schildern versehen, die angeben, was auf welchem Stockwerk was zu finden ist.
Die Menüs der Bars werden über QR-Codes zugänglich sein.
Große Schilder können eventuell nur entweder geprägte Buchstaben oder Braille enthalten.

Das eingebaute taktile Leitsystem wird an einigen Stellen modifiziert. Dazu gibt es mobile taktile Platten, zur Verfügung gestellt von der ACCESS @ KIT Forschungsgruppe.

Die genauen Details werden hier dokumentiert und im c3nav angezeigt.

Wir werden uns auch darum bemühen, dass die Teilnehmenden das Leitsystem kennen und es freihalten.

Stockwerks-Pläne

Für den 38C3 haben wir Stockwerks-Pläne erstellt, die wir für den 40C3 aktualisieren werden.

Die Pläne bestehen aus schwarzem Stoff, auf dem der Grundriss und das Blinden-Leitsystem weiß eingestickt wird. Dazu kommen 3D-gedruckte Markierungen und eine 3D-gedruckte Legende für genauere Informationen. Um die Pläne für Personen mit Sehbehinderung besser erkennbar und nutzbar zu machen, bekommen die Pläne Schreibtisch-Lampen.

Die Pläne werden in der Umgebung von Aufzügen und Rolltreppen auf Tischen aufgestellt werden. Die genauen Positionen werden in c3nav markiert.

c3tactile unterstützen

Du kannst uns helfen, indem du * zuhause Schilder druckst oder deinen 3D-Drucker mitbringst. Schau auf tactile.c3w.at vorbei. * zuhause Pläne stickst, oder deine Stickmaschine mitbringst. Bitte melde dich in dem Fall per mail bei uns unter c3tactile@c3w.at * bei Aufbau, Instandhaltung und Abbau hilfst. Wir werden uns mit dem Himmel absprechen, und passende Engelschichten im System eintragen lassen.

Das funktioniert noch nicht, das haben wir gelernt

Diese Liste soll dich auf einige Barrieren hinweisen, die du nicht überall erwarten musst, denen du beim Kongress jedoch begegnen wirst. Du kannst dazu beitragen, die Liste zu kürzen, indem du dich im Accessibility-Team einbringst und sie erweitern, indem du uns per E-Mail über Barrieren informierst.

Gebärdensprache

Wenn du auf Gebärdensprache angewiesen bist, möchtest du vermutlich einen Interpreten zum Congress nehmen. Falls du dieses Problem besser verstehen und gegebenenfalls lösen möchtest: Lies die englische Infoseite zum Thema Gebärdensprache.

Barrieren für Rollstuhlnutzende

Auf dem 37C3 mussten wir feststellen, dass es nach der erfolgten Modernisierung des Gebäudes mehr Barrieren für Rollstuhlnutzende verblieben, als gehofft. Dies solltest du wissen:

Es gibt nur wenige Fahrstühle, die häufig überhitzen. Wir tun viel, damit die Auslastung begrenzt wird und niemand will kontrollieren, ob Besuchende einen guten Grund für die Nutzung des Fahrstuhls haben.
Das CCH ist ein Labyrinth, insbesondere im Rollstuhl. Wir haben nötige Umleitungen ausgeschildert.
Wir müssen darauf bestehen, dass du nicht die Rolltreppen benutzt, auch wenn du das sonst tust.
Um zum Chaos Musik Club zu gelangen, früher Lounge, geht es stufenfrei nur durch verschlossene Bereiche. Wie das funktioniert, wird hier veröffentlicht, sobald es feststeht, und es wird ausgeschildert sein. Frag uns ruhig. Leider gibt es kein barrierefreies WC in dem Bereich. Das nächstgelegene ist beim Ausgang zum Radisson hin neben dem Presse-Zentrum.
Das Veranstaltungszentrum ist überwiegend mit Rollstuhl-freundlichem Teppich ausgelegt.

Zugang für Blinde und Sehbehinderte

Bei den vorherigen Veranstaltungen wurden die Tische mit den Stockwerks-Plänen wiederholt als Abstellfläche benutzt. Einige Pläne werden deshalb diesmal auf geneigten Tischen angebracht werden. Diese Tische sind Prototypen -- wir freuen uns auf euer Feedback!
Personen mit Nachtblindheit werden leider weiterhin aufgrund der dunklen und bunten Beleuchtung Probleme auf dem Congress haben.

Lärm und Lichter

Der Congress wird überwältigend und reiz-überflutend sein. Wir empfehlen, ANC-Kopfhörer und eventuell eine Sonnenbrille mitzubringen, wenn du sensibel für akustische oder visuelle Reize bist.

Stroboskop-Lichter

In der Lounge werden 20-Hz-Stroboskoplichter verwendet. Meide diesen Bereich, wenn du anfällig für photoepileptische Anfälle bist. Kunst- und Spiel-Installationen werden keine Stroboskoplichter verwenden. Die Community wird viele Dinge bauen selbst. Sei also vorsichtig und bitte gern Teilnehmende, besonders intensive Lichtinstallationen herunter zu regeln.

In general: For a lot of physical disabilities, the CCH has good accessibility. The Congress Center Hamburg is newly renovated and up to code. There are good toilets, guidance systems for the blind and visually impaired and everything (including stages) in theory is wheelchair accessible. But there are caveats with wheelchair access.

Accessibility Helpdesk

Next to Infodesk, there's going to be a dedicated point of contact for anything related to accessibility. You can also reach it via DECT at 1155.

The desk will, similar to Infodesk, act as first level support, but has more awareness and sensitivity about the do's and don'ts of disability support. They also have some communication aids covering the basics of being excellent to disabled.

We also aim to have some very limited short-form assistance available, which you can request by giving Helpdesk a call or by showing up in person. If there are capacities left over and our angel is free, you will receive any viable assistance that does not exceed 30 minutes. This is handled on a first come, first served basis, and can be used e.g. for being taken from point A to B or to transcribe conversations. As availability is extremely limited, please only use this service if you absolutely need it. If you foresee the need for permanent a personal assistant, please bring your own.

Hidden Disability Badges

Hidden Disability Badges will be available. Those are made to be compatible with your angel badge (you can glue them together). Your Hidden Disabilities Badge has room for some pre-made stickers (such as “sign with me” or “no flirting”) and room for writing down notes/instructions. It can also be folded and flipped in case certain disability info does not require being on display all the time.

You can also get stickers for informing others that you have to skip long queues or use priority seating at the stages. (And in many cases, asking politely will likely get you those “benefits” as well.)

QuietQube and c3auti

Our mutual support crew for autistic creatures organizes support for autistic creatures and all attendees with similar needs. They provide a Silent Room, a Meltdown Room, Gadgets and emotional support when you need it.

They also organize QuietQube. This is not a silent room, but a cozy place to socialize and recover from the noise and lights of congress.

There are places in the lecture halls for wheelchair users and accompanying persons.

Hearing Aids

In Hall 1, G and Z, you can hear the original talk language via induction loops in the entire auditorium with compatible hearing aids.

For all other purposes: - on stages without loops, - for listening to translation tracks, - when your aids can't receive audio via induction, ... we offer live audio streams via c3lingo.org.

We recommend you use wired headphones to improve reliability for yourself and to keep the Bluetooth bandwidth free for those can't use wired.

Due to the complex venue layout, dense crowds and dim lighting, Congress is challenging.

There is a dedicated team trying to make CCH more accessible and easier to navigate for blind and low vision visitors.

All signs are 3D printed with a black background and white text.

The building's built-in tactile guidance system will be modified in places that are impractical. A mobile tactile paving, courtesy of the ACCESS @ KIT research group will be used for this.

We will also put more effort into ensuring the guidance system is recognized and cleared by attendees.

Floor plans

We created tactile floor plans for 38C3, which we will update for 40C3.

The floor plans consist of black textile with white embroidering for building characteristics, including the navigation system. We then add 3D printed markers and a 3D printed legend for specific information. To improve visibility and usability of the plans for low vision participants, the maps will be upgraded with desk lamps.

The plans will be positioned close-ish to elevators and escalators. Positions will be marked on c3nav.

Barriers to expect and Lessons Learned

This is meant to point out some barriers that you might not expect under other circumstances, but may run into at Congress. You can help reduce the list by volunteering and expand the list by contacting us via mail and telling us about barriers.

Sign Language

If you rely on sign language, you will likely need to bring your own interpreter. To understand and maybe this issue in the future, you may read the infopage on sign language.

Wheelchair Access Limitations

Wheelchair access in the CCH is good, but not perfect.

There are very few elevators available that often overheat. We put in much effort to reduce loads and nobody wants to police if guests actually have a good reason to use them.
The CCH is a maze and gets more challenging in a wheelchair. There will be signs helping you find detours.
We must insist that you not use the escalators even if you do that day to day.
To get to the Chaos Computer Music Club (formely Lounge), you will need to call an angel to guide you to there. The meeting point is at the in the entrance hall, next to the Welcome Desk and the passage to the Radisson. Please call 1420 if there is no angel and for leaving the club. There is also a sign at the meeting location with this info. Note: There is no barrier-free WC in this area, the last one is where you exit the entrance hall to the Radisson next to the press room.
Most of the convention centre has wheelchair friendly carpets.

In the previous events floor plan tables were repeatedly used to put down drinks or other stuff. Some plans will be affixed to slanted tables to avoid this. Those are prototypes and we are looking forward to your feedback.
Due to the dim and colorful lighting, people with night blindness might still experience problems.

Noise and Lights

Congress will be overwhelming and over-stimulating. It is advised to bring ANC Headphones and maybe sunglasses if you are easily overstimulated or exhausted.

Strobe Lights

Lounge will use 20 Hz strobe lights, avoid that area if you are at risk of having photoepileptic seizures. Art and Play installations will not use strobe lights. Many community members will build a lot of things, so be careful and don’t hesitate to ask for overly intense light installations to be tuned down.

Jedes Jahr zwischen Weihnachten und Neujahr treffen sich tausende Hacker*innen zum Chaos Communication Congress in Hamburg. Der Azubitag ist eine günstige Gelegenheit für Auszubildende, den Congress zu besuchen, den CCC kennenzulernen und viel über IT-Security, Technik und Gesellschaft zu lernen. Wir freuen uns, diesen Tag nun zum dritten Mal anbieten zu können.

Der CCC ist nicht nur für Nerds

Neben den ganz technischen Vorträgen gibt es auch viele Vorträge, die sich mit gesellschaftlichen Themen beschäftigen. Es geht um Datenschutz, Überwachung, Politik, Kunst, Kultur, Musik und vieles mehr. Alle Azubis aus allen Ausbildungsberufen können teilnehmen: Mediendesigner*innen, Tierpfleger*innen, Zerspahnungsmechaniker*innen, Sanitärtechniker*innen usw. – Du musst keine technische Ausbildung machen, um am Congress teilzunehmen.

Es wird dutzende Vorträge geben, in denen es um die verschiedensten Themen gehen kann: Von der Sicherheit von Smartphones über selbstgebaute U-Boote bis hin zur Hacker*innen-Ethik. Besonders interessant sind aber die Workshops: Dort gibt es tiefere Einblicke, z.B. Einführungen in das Hacken, die Kunst des Schlösseröffnens und den Selbstbau von Robotern. Da diese ganze Veranstaltung und alle Inhalte von Freiwilligen organisiert werden, wird das genaue Programm erst auf dem Congress selbst feststehen. Auch das Congress-Gebäude wird an diesen Tagen ganz besonders aussehen: Mit Wänden, an denen man Tetris oder Pong spielen kann, 3D-Druckern, interaktiven Kunstinstallationen, tausenden bunt leuchtenden LEDs und vielem mehr.

Der Azubitag

Der Azubitag findet am Montag, dem 29.12.2026 statt. Es wird eine Eröffnungsveranstaltung für die Azubis geben, nach der sie eigenständig den Congress erkunden können.

Die Auszubildenden können entweder eigenständig am Tag teilnehmen, oder die ausbildenden Betriebe können dies auch als Fortbildung anbieten. Außerdem gibt es ein reserviertes Ticketkontingent für weibliche und genderqueere Azubis.

Bitte schicke uns einen aktuellen Nachweis von deiner (Berufs-)Schule oder deinem Ausbildungsbetrieb. Wenn du Fragen hast, kannst du uns jederzeit eine E-Mail schicken.

Menschen, die ein duales oder triales Studium machen, zählen nicht als Azubi.

Können Betreuer*innen mitkommen?

Das Tagesticket richtet sich nur an Auszubildende; wir können leider keine besonderen Tickets für Betreuer*innen ausgeben.

Kann ich selbstständig, unabhängig von meinem Betrieb, teilnehmen?

Ja. Wenn du an dem Tag Urlaub hast oder nicht arbeiten musst, kannst du natürlich auch selbstständig teilnehmen.

Es handelt sich dabei um ein vergünstigtes Tagesticket für 30 € pro Person.

Übrigens! Auch Interessent*innen am Azubiticket sind herzlich eingeladen, sich beim Friends-Team zu melden, um einen individuellen Preis zu vereinbaren.

Rechnung

Es wird die Möglichkeit geben, für den Ticketpreis eine Rechnung zu bekommen.

Anmeldung

Nachdem du uns die E-Mail für die Anmeldung geschickt hast (wie oben beschrieben), wirst du einen Voucher bekommen. Das ist ein Code, mit dem du im Congress-Ticket-Shop das eigentliche Ticket für den Azubitag kaufen kannst. Der Voucher selbst ist kein Ticket, sondern nur der Zugangscode, um ein Ticket kaufen zu können! Es kann einige Tage dauern, bis wir alle eure E-Mails beantworten können.

Wir werden die Voucher auch erst verschicken, sobald der Congress-Ticket-Shop online ist. Sobald das Kontingent erschöpft ist, werden wir diesen Text aktualisieren.

Dauer

Das Ticket gilt nur für den 29.12.2026 und ist ein Tagesticket.

Minderjährige Teilnahme?

Bei einer Entsendung zum Azubitag durch den Arbeitgeber hat der Betrieb weiterhin die Aufsichtspflicht. Wenn du minderjährig bist, musst du das mit deinem Betrieb eigenständig klären. Wenn du in deiner eigenen Zeit teilnimmst, bist du selbst für dich verantwortlich. Es wird auch einen Junghacker*innen-Tag geben, vielleicht ist das in dem Fall der bessere Tag.

Aufsichtspflicht

Der Congress übernimmt keine Aufsichtspflicht für Minderjährige.

Unterkunft

Von unserer Seite gibt es keine Möglichkeit, Unterkünfte zu vermitteln. Es gibt in Hamburg aber diverse Hostels und Hotels.

Essen

Die Teilnehmenden müssen sich selbst um ihre Verpflegung kümmern. Im Gebäude wird Essen zu Messepreisen verkauft, die üblicherweise nicht im Azubi-Preisbereich liegen. Alternativ gibt es diverse Fast-Food-Läden am Bahnhof Dammtor, der ca. fünf Minuten von der Messe entfernt ist. Du kannst auch dein eigenes Essen mitbringen.

Getränke

Es wird vor Ort Getränke geben. Dafür solltest du dir am besten Bargeld mitnehmen. Du kannst natürlich auch deine eigenen Getränke mitbringen.

Zertifikat

Am Ende des Tages gibt es die Möglichkeit, ein Zertifikat über die Teilnahme am Azubitag zu bekommen. Wann und wo du das genau machen kannst, erfährst du im Tagesplan.

The CERT (Chaos Emergency Response Team) is a team of professionally trained doctors, nurses, paramedics and diversely trained medics, firefighters and specialists in crisis intervention.

They take care of all emergencies and problems that require medical attention. Whatever sickness or injury you might show up with, the CERT is your place to go. This team also makes sure that fire safety regulations are adhered to and emergency routes are unblocked.

Heaven is the “labour exchange” of the Chaos events. We try to connect life forms who want to help out (”angels”) with the work that is brought to us by other teams. At the same time, we do the best we can to make sure our angels have fun doing what they do and are doing well. We are always available for our angels as contact persons and help them with questions, just as we try to find good and pragmatic solutions for the teams regarding the work that arises.

The cloakroom can store your jackets and/or luggage during Congress for a small fee. The cloakroom is operated 24/7 during Congress, opening at 14:00 on Dec 26th and closing at around 02:00 on Dec 31st.

As it has been customary for CCC events for ages, the POC (Phone Operation Center) powered by Eventphone is again operating a site-wide DECT and SIP network.

How to register and activate a device

create an account (or log in using an existing account) on GURU
register an extension number for your phone(s) in the GURU web interface
bring your DECT phone (only EU band phones for the DECT band work; US-DECT operates on 2.4 GHz and is not compatible) or SIP client
once on site, you can connect your device to our network and activate your extension by calling your activation token — here’s a more detailed how-to

Mobile Network (GSM / 4G / 5G)

The c3gsm team have obtained spectrum licenses in the 850 MHz, 1800 MHz, 1900 MHz, 2300 MHz and 3700 MHz bands. Our network will use the following frequencies:

GSM: 850 MHz and 1800 MHz FDD (all phones should support this)
4G: 1900 MHz (Band 2/25 FDD), 2300 MHz (Band 40 TDD) (Most phones should support this)
5G: 3700 MHz (Band N78 TDD) (5G capable phones should support this)

How to get a number

The GSM/LTE network is inter-connected with the POC network. Please get your extension via GURU.

How to get a SIM card

In order to use the private on-site cellular networks, you will need a CCC Event SIM card.

You can either

re-use any (e)SIM card from previous CCC events (Congress, Camp)
obtain a new (e)SIM card at the event

Membership Desk

The membership desk will be located near the Infodesk. Please ask at the Infodesk for membership services. Services provided are all around the membership in the CCC. You can:

check your membership status
pay your membership fee
change your data like address, email or pgp-key
apply for membership

Please keep in mind:

If you apply for membership you have to fill in a form to apply for membership. Don’t bring your own application form, as you have to fill in your data at the membershipdesk terminal.
You have to pay the membership fee for the first year, which is 72 Euros (regular) or 36 Euros (reduced, for pupils and students, please bring a document to prove this). Payments will only be possible in cash.
If you are already a member, please bring your chaos number.

Opening hours:

approximately 13:00–22:00 during congress

Important hint for volunteers/angels: due to the special requirements of this job, we usually won’t be able to accept self-signups to this angel type.

Gyms are open all day/night 24h

We were able to secure some gymnasiums at a nearby school to sleep at. Tickets for the upcoming night will cost 5 € and will be sold each day (for the upcoming night only) at the registration desk during its opening hours, but no earlier than 14:00.

We have reserved a special allocation of tickets for angels that have worked. Gym tickets for angels will be available at Heaven at all times and for all days in advance.

When using the gyms, please bring your own camping mat and sleeping bag. Showers and toilets will be available at the gyms. Please note: these school gymnasiums are simply large empty halls with a flat floor and no padding. No dividing walls, no enclosed spaces, nothing else at all.

The gyms will be located around 2 km (ca. 20 minutes walking distance) from the venue.

Merchandise

The Fashion Operation Center is tasked with distributing preordered merchandise as well as selling our dear congress clothing and accessories. As with many things, production and handling of the merchandise is some effort, so please be lenient with our opening hours. Also, feel free to signup for merch shifts in the engelsystem.

The NOC helpdesk team is proud to present to you: The YoloColo! As usual, we provide you with one of the most hacky-looking-while-still-being-better-than-some-actual-DCs housing solutions for your hardware during the event!

Keywords “MUST”, “MUST NOT”, “REQUIRED”, “SHOULD”, “SHOULD NOT” and “MAY” that appear in this document are to be interpreted as described in RFC2119.

Guidelines/FAQ

When to bring your Server

The YoloColo times are:

day 1: 12:00-21:00
day 2 & 3: 12:00, 13:00, 18:00, 19:00
day 4: 12:00-15:00

The YoloColo closes at 16:00 on day4. Please be in the YoloColo queue before 15:00 so you can get your server in time.

Be at the yolocolo door (most likely again the "Empoore Saal3" on the first floor, marked with a YoloColo sign) within the given time ranges for day 1 and 4 or a time point for days 2 and 3. We'll try to service everyone that arrived within the given times on day 1 and 4 - you don't need to be there at the exact moment the range starts. On days 2 and 3 (where a time point is given) we will only work through the queue und then end the shift. If unsure please call the NOC helpdesk before bringing your machine.

If there are no other people waiting outside you might try if the door is open and take a peek inside. You may come in if the helpdesk coordinator is the only person inside. Else make sure they know you are waiting and wait outside until asked to come in.

Location

The colocation will probably be located in TODO. Access to the room is only granted

in company of a NOC-Helpdesk coordinator

Please keep build-up times as low as possible and try connecting everything you can ahead of time. We aim for a maximum of around 5 minutes per person. If you believe this applies to your use case you MUST contact us using E-Mail beforehand.

Please do not bring your wannabe-jet-engine. While it should not be an issue we MAY turn off the most noisy machines if Saal3 gets too loud because of it.

Thanks to team power we can provide you with all the Schuko (CEE 7/3) sockets you could want. Power can fail! Make sure you have backups of important data!

Network connectivity will be provided through:

1GBase-T/2.5GBase-T/5GBase-T and maybe 10GBase-T (please use SFP+ instead of 10GBase-T if possible)
1G/10G SFP+, 25G SFP28
A handful of 40G QSFP+ and 100G QSFP28 (tell us a good reason why you need it and do not expect to get it! Ideally contact us beforehand via email)

Bring your own DACs/Fiber+Transceivers/cables/... and make sure to bring long ones (ideally in the range of 5m. We can not gurantee a spot right next to a switch!). Every visitor will get an absolute maximum of 5 ports.

L2

You SHOULD configure your server to announce a reasonable hostname as well as contact information via LLDP to facilitate debugging. You SHOULD be able to receive LLDPDUs or know the switchport you are plugged in by other means.

There will be no LACP trunks.

L3

IP addresses will be provided via SLAAC. Be sure to know your modified EUI-64.

Here have a quick calculator:

If your SLAAC implementation disables the static address when privacy extensions are enabled, you MUST disable privacy extensions before bringing your server.

Please test your SLAAC beforehand!
There were many people in the last years that had weird misconfigurations that resulted in "flapping addresses" or just plain non-working IPv6.

The YoloColo prefix is 2001:67c:20a1:1561::/64.

There might be a public list of all active addresses in this prefix!
If you do not want to "leak" the physical MAC address of your NIC consider changing the MAC to a random one ore use a random address from this prefix and configure it statically (make sure that you still get the default route via router advertisements though).

Traffic from/to WiFi

If your service will cause a metric ton of traffic (looking at you, pixelflut) please consider blocking traffic originating from the WiFi IP ranges.

Physical Integrity

Your server MUST NOT be on fire.
Your server MUST have a robust chassis. We will stack multiple servers and will not make an exception if your server is housed in a flimsy box.
Your server MUST NOT be made from easily flammable material like paper or cardboard.
There will be a (possibly conductive) shelf for small devices like NUCs, Raspberry Pis, etc.
There might be a rack.

Labeling

Your server MUST be labeled with at least

Some way to identify you as the owner (DECT/mail/pubkey/password/dance-pattern/…)
Some way of contacting you (Nickname and DECT/mail)

If this information is missing we will hand out the server to the first person that gives us a convincing argument why this is their machine.

Please put this information somewhere where it is easily visible even when multiple machines are stacked on top of each other.

Retrieval

You MUST retrieve your server at the latest on day 4 at 16:00 local time. Any hardware not retrieved in time will be considered a donation. We MAY try to contact you if you did not retrieve your server until then.

Finding other's servers

There will be a page in the public wiki again where you can add your server so others can easily find what you brought. In case you have troubles finding said wiki page it will most likely be linked on the usual "Dating" page.

This page explains the process of registering your Assembly for 40C3.

Registering for 40C3

Warning

Assembly registration for 40c3 already closed. Registering an Assembly is no longer possible.

To register an Assembly for participation at 40C3 (and do other assembly-related management and public listing stuff), use The Hub's Assembly management features: https://events.ccc.de/congress/2026/hub/backoffice/

Furthermore, you can:

Specify what infrastructure and what (kind of) space your Assembly needs

Loosely declare other Assemblies as related to yours

Make sure to complete both registration steps

After registration, go to your "my assemblies" list at The Hub and verify that your Assembly's Status actually displays 'registered'. If it does not, consult Terminology: Assembly 'Status'

After the registration

After you registered your Assembly, wait and keep an eye on your Assembly's status display. The Congress organization team(s) will be informed of your registration and of your Assembly's specific needs. The teams may or may not contact you. Eventually, provided that there are no showstopper issues, your Assembly will be assigned a fitting spot at the venue ("usually" one or two weeks before Congress, but December 26th at the latest). In Hamburg

How and when to get into the Congress Center Hamburg building (CCH) to set up your Assembly:
• Infopage 'Assemblies' > Arrival & setting up

Enable other people at Congress to discover you and understand who you are. For example, you can fill your Assembly's profile with things that demonstrate what you stand for as an Assembly. During Congress, your Assembly's profile will be listed in The Hub's Assemblies list together with those of all other Asssemblies for everyone to find. Consider creating interesting physical signage with your Assembly's name on it, as there can be a lot of different Assemblies close to each other at the venue, potentially making your group difficult to identify. You can also provide information about what will actually be happening at your Assembly during Congress: Your Assembly can register Assembly Events or your Assembly's Projects in The Hub. These will then appear in the Schedule, and The Hub's Projects list. You can also still add entries to the Event list or Project list instantly while Congress is already running. Remember this if there are spontaneous ideas at Congress and you want to increase the chances of random like-minded people joining in with you.

Terminology: Assembly 'Status'

In the time before Congress starts, your Assembly's 'Status' will change multiple times. You can always see the current status of your Assembly in your "my assemblies" list at The Hub.

List of Assembly 'Status'es

Stage 1: "planned" ("geplant")
Stage 2: "registered" ("registriert")
Stage 3: "accepted" ("angenommen") or "rejected" ("abgelehnt")
Stage 4: "placed" ("platziert")
Stage 5: "arrived (self-annouced)" ("angekommen (eigene Aussage)") or "arrived (confirmed)" ("angekommen (bestätigt)")

What they mean:

"planned": You must fill in more detail information about the Assembly to finish registration. This status means that you have created an Assembly in the system and gave it a name, but have not yet finished the second step of filling in certain detail information. If you do not do this, your Assembly registration may or may not be ignored by the Assemblies Team and your Assembly may not get a place at Congress. Add more detail information to get your Assembly into 'registered' status.

"registered": All good so far, now keep an eye on further status changes while you wait for the Assemblies Team to get to checking your Assembly. They may or may not at some point contact you, for example if your Assembly has specified to have special (infrastructure) requirements.

"accepted": The Assemblies Team has finished handling your Assembly registration. This means that the registration process is completed. Wait for the status to be changed to 'placed' (be patient).

"rejected": This status will be set if the Assemblies Team has checked an Assembly's registration and probably talked to the Assembly, and for some reason has rejected it. This Assembly will not be at Congress this year.

"placed": Your Assembly has been assigned a spot at the venue and can now be found on the map.

"arrived (self-annouced)": This Assembly has officially declared to have arrived at the Congress venue, but the Assemblies Team has not verified it yet.

"arrived (confirmed)": The Assemblies Team has confirmed that this Assembly has arrived at the Congress Venue.

Badges and you

Badges and you

Participants of the event can collect badges via "redeem tokens" provided by the assemblies or the assemblies can manually grant badges to participants.

As an assembly organizer badges can be used to reward participants for tasks related to your assembly.

There is no single dedicated process for how badges should be handled, get creative with the features the hub offers.

Collecting Badges

In order to collect badges you need to register with the hub.

Badges are shown in your hub profile page and can be managed there as well.

Badges are created by assemblies and might be used for different purposes. Some assemblies will reward you with a badge for visiting them, for other badges you will have to accomplish a challenge first.

Redeeming Tokens

Badges can be redeemed via token. To simplify the redeem process assemblies are provided with a QR code you can just scan and an URL you can open in your browser to automatically be awared with a badge.

In case you get a redeem token for a badge you can enter it in the "My Badges" section in your profile page.

Tokens can be limited in different ways. There can be limits on how often and how frequently a token can be redeemed.

Managing Badges

Manage your badges in the hub. Badges that got assigned to you manually will be shown as pending. Once you accept a badge it can be displayed public.

The default visibility for your badges can be adjusted at your profile page. Further, you can chose for each badge if it should be shown publicly, to a limited user group or not at all.

Creating Badges

Badges can be created by assemblies. They are managed via the backoffice of the hub.

Badge Settings

Name, Description, Location

General information on the badge:

Name: Prominently displayed in lists, etc.
Description: What do I have to do to get the badge
Location: Where can I get/earn this badge or where is it originating from

Status

Controls how the badge is displayed:

Scheduled: Not public, never displayed
Hidden: Badge information is not displayed, the badge must be earned before description and location are shown
Public: Badge information is public and the badge is listed in the public badge list

Redeem

Badges can either be redeemed via a redeem token or by manually assigning the badge to a user in the backoffice

Each assembly can assign any number of redeem tokens for each badge, which can then be used to redeem the badge. For each token a QR code and an URL is provided to simplify the redeem process.

Restrictions

The tokens can be limited by number of redemptions and time. If someone attempts to use a token that has reached its maximum redemptions or outside of the time ranges specified an error will appear.

For example, you can create a badge that can only be earned 10 times a day by limiting it to 1 token valid from 0-24 o'clock and 10 redemptions total.

QR Code, URL and NFC

Each redeem token has a unique URL that can be used to redeem the token.

The backoffice allows to manage the redeem tokens for each badge separately. You can use the link provided for the redeem token there and share it on social media, via messenger or print it on a sugar cube for people to redeem the badge. A QR code is provided as well.

Examples of what you can do with the QR Code

A QR code can be on display at an assembly. Visitors can scan the code and get a badge in return.

Hackertours could have separate badges per tour, that are then distributed to the participants. This will give the participants an electronic souvenir of the tour.

Events

Events are community driven meetings. They are organized by an assembly (event) or person (self-organized session) and are not part of the official fahrplan.

How to create Events and self-organized Sessions

You can create lectures and sessions as part of your assembly or as a self-organized session, which will appear on the schedule in the frontend (somewhat separated from the official fahrplan).

Your event or self-organized session can, but does not have to, reference a room – but it will only appear in the iOS/Android apps if it has assigned a room – at least for now. Make sure your listeners/participants know where to go.

Managing events for Assemblies

For Assemblies the assembly manager can manage their events after selecting their respective assembly in the backoffice.

To become a member of an assembly, create an account at the hub and ask the organizers of the assembly to add you by your hub username.

In the sidebar you can then (1) create an event or (2) manage an existing event.

Managing self-organized Sessions

You can click the plus symbol at the top right corner right before your user profile in the hub or go to the self-organized sessions section at the backoffice to (1) create or (2) manage your sessions

Properties of Events

The form for creating events will then guide you through the possible properties. For the start date you can use the formats dd.mm.YYYY HH:MM or YYYY-mm-dd HH:MM.
The duration is a simple input as minutes.

Visibility of Events and self-organized Sessions

By default, events and sessions are not public. You will see a warning for the entry as long as it has not been published. If you want to publish it make sure all the information is correct, then push the publish button and confirm the dialog.

Congratulations, you have published the event/session!

If your event/session is taking place in a room it will be shown in that rooms track in the schedule in the frontend.

Choosing Rooms

Assemblies can create their own rooms in the backoffice to organize their assemblies space.

A few days before the congress starts (typically arrount 17th December), bitter Self-organized sessions can choose free spot in one of the three workrooms. Otherwise a generic location can be set in the backoffice.

Rooms for events and sessions can be chosen depending on their availability right in the events/session edit form in the backoffice.

Sharing Rooms

An assembly can share their rooms with other assemblies, or even open their rooms for self-organized sessions by any participant. In order to do so an assembly manager needs to reach out to the hub team with the rooms to share.

The Hub

The hub is meant as the central place for getting information about content at Congress: It aggregates the events from all the stages, art & music events as well as self-organized sessions into a “Fahrplan” (schedule) which is then also used by the mobile apps.

Additionally, assemblies can show their projects and you, as a visitor, can share knowledge with the wiki and/or put your stuff up for grabs, look for ride-sharing options and find like-minded people to start projects with.

If you’re searching for assemblies that match your interests, try out the search bar – nearly 200 assemblies are waiting to be discovered by you.

Of course, you can search for all other information managed by the hub as well and collect virtual badges offered by the assemblies (you might remember that feature from rC3).

The whole project is still in development, and we’d like to hear about your ideas on what should be included! We have several ideas planned but are a bit short-staffed – if you like to help, the source is available.

The hub mainly consist of 2 parts: the "UI" and the "backoffice". The UI is centered around your profile and the contents of the Congress. The backoffice is used to create and manage entries like assemblies and projects.

Use cases

What do you want to do?

I want to share a small bit of information (e.g. find someone to travel with, look for specific hardware)
The hub's wiki offers a place to share and participate or you take a look at the hubs bulletin board. If you are missing a page for ride sharing, hardware exchange or anything else you are encouraged to create it yourself.
I want to announce a project publicly
The hub offers you self-organized content including projects. You can use the "Projects" section to learn how to create them.
Already published projects are visible in the hubs project view.
I want to set up a self-organized session
If your event does not match your assembly or you are not part of an assembly you can create a self-organized session for it. Follow the "Events" guide to create your own event!
I want to register an assembly
Assemblies need to be register weeks in advance of the Congress. Assembly registration for the upcoming Congress closes at November 24th. Registration is available at the hub’s backoffice.
I want to join an assembly as a member
Right now, only your assembly organizers can add you as a member in the backoffice – there are plans to change that in the future.
Our assembly wants to offer a lecture hall/workshop room/stage
Choose the option “Rooms” in the backoffice. Click on the button with the plus symbol and set up a new room (lecture hall, stage, workshop room) with a name of your choice. Events can now be assigned to your room.
Our assembly wants to offer workshops
Open your assembly in the backoffice and choose the option “Events” from the sidebar menu. Give your workshop a title and add some more information like language, abstract and a description for visitors.
Our assembly wants to show projects
Open your assembly in the backoffice and choose the option “Projects” from the sidebar menu. Give your project a name and add some more information like a description or additional links.
I want to contact an assembly
Choose the assembly from the hub’s list. The assembly’s info page will show you its main contacts.

Projects

Projects are a showcase of things you or your assembly have created. They can be anything you’d like to share with the world.

Flying mate box, cocktail robots, waffles of mass destruction? Show us and the world!

The hub provides a list of already published projects.

Assembly Projects vs. Self-organized Projects

The difference between an assembly project and a self-organized project is only one of association.

Assembly projects are set up by an assembly that is officially registered to the event.
Self-organized projects are provided by a person with their own personal resources.

How to create a project?

Projects are managed via the backoffice. Assemblies can manage their projects in their assembly’s view in the "Projects" menu section. Projects from individuals can be created within the self-organized content section of the backoffice.

We want to see your projects! In order for the good stuff to end up in the frontend, we need the following from you:

A short project name to identify your project
A Description for your project shown to the public, the following questions are a great starting point:
- What will be shown?
- Why do people not want to miss it?
- Where did the idea come from?
- Who made it?
- Do you need help from people?
Further, some optional information can be provied:
- Links to other content (through dereferrer) possible, like a gallery or source code repos, …
- Tags to ease searching for your project
- A location to find your project at the event
- A banner image for the visual pleasures

Info

External content not hosted on pages related to the Congress or CCC won't be embedded. You can still link to your own content but user will be informed about leaving the Congress world via a dereferrer.

Map

There is a map of the Congress venue at 40c3.c3nav.de provided by c3nav. You can search for halls, assemblies and other points of interest like helpdesks, toilets or bars.

There will also be map sections embedded in relevant places, such as the Assembly pages in the Hub or the Engelsystem.

c3nav supports route planning to your destination and provides directions so you can find your way around the CCH. Using our Android app in combination with WiFi scanning you can determine your approximate current position in the building.

c3nav can also help with finding places and routes for people with impairments/disabilities, e.g. by avoiding stairs.

You can get our Android app on the Play Store, on GitHub and via our F-Droid repository.

“What about iPhones?” – Apple does not provide APIs for scanning nearby WiFi networks or for getting RTT measurements. You can still use the web map in your browser at 40c3.c3nav.de, or install the Progressive Web App.

Improving the Map

You can report missing locations or incorrect information in c3nav itself, just click on a spot on the map. If you notice routing errors, these can also be reported in the route details.

API

There’s an OpenAPI 3.1 compatible REST API available.

Your own tracked/moving location for Projects etc.

By registering an account in our system, you can share custom dynamic positions in the map. If desired, we can turn those into searchable locations if you contact us.

We have a limited number of self-tracking devices available that you can borrow if you have a moving project. You can easily self-track using an ESP32 and a powerbank. If possible, use an ESP32-C3 for potentially more modern positioning support.

The Chaos Communication Congress is the Chaos Computer Club’s (CCC) annual symposium and hacker party.

Congress is the longest-running IT security conference in Germany, the biggest European hacker gathering and has grown into one of the most important conferences on digital transformation. We focus on topics such as information technology, digital security, making, and breaking. We engage in creative, sceptical discourse on the interaction between technology and society.

There are three lecture halls: Saal 1, Saal G “Grace Hopper“, and Saal Z “Konrad Zuse”. You can find the schedule either in the main talk schedule that only lists the talks, or in the combined schedule at the Hub which combines all events at 40C3.

Tracks

40C3’s lectures are organized by tracks, each track is curated by a team of experts in the respective field.

Art & Beauty

Something went wrong with the reboot! Art & Beauty, Art & Culture, whatever you call it, was gravely affected in the last power cycle. Blue screen of death, red ring, ████, cracked gorilla glass, this thing is totally kaput. While some glorified chatbot puts you on hold on the service center helpline (what? It’s not supposed to do that!) we want to invite you to transform that anger, to take a breath and reflect on a thoughtful talk, playful presentation, or lecture performance. We want to see how you destroy things, makeput them new together, dissect, disturb, distort, and ███████. Shit, this froze again.

Please submit for yourself and more importantly: please persuade and support your favorite artist, curator, or critic to present her/their work and the idea behind it at congress 2026. Thank you.

Nota Bene: all pure performances, DJ sets, electric wazoo concerts, baroque stage plays, etc. should apply at the Call for Music. We do the more talky artsy stuff. Or ███████.

Chaos Community Creations

For the new track Chaos Community Creations, we are looking for contributions from the community for the community: Are you planning a big new Chaos event? Have you implemented a mega-exciting project in your local hack space? Have you established a fruitful cooperation with groups, clubs, or associations outside of Chaos?

Ethics, Society & Politics

The Ethics, Society & Politics track is looking for critical, subversive, but also hopeful perspectives on technology and society.

As crises pile up and the political, social, and ecological climate becomes harsher day by day, we need to talk: What can we do when our scope for action appears to be narrowing? How can hackerdom and civil society contribute when total surveillance powers are constantly being touted, right-wing populism dominates the discourse, and the 'AI' hype further fuels the climate catastrophe?

True to the motto 'Power Cycles – Restart Everything' we call for presentations that break down existing power dynamics and illustrate how we can effectively counteract (global) crises. Join us for a trip to our roots and let's figure out together how we might pool our strengths as a community and put them to good use. We want old and new approaches to form alliances, foster solidarity, and act with foresight. Can we turn it off and on again?

Hardware

The track Hardware is all about development and creative use of things that allow the digital to make an impression on the physical.

On the one hand our focus is on the whole process from architecture, planning, creation and debugging of everything ranging from textiles, musical instruments, robots, integrated circuits, means of transportation for people and Club Mate, launching stuff into space, alternative energy supplies to medical tools, toys and smartphones — all things hands-on.

On the other hand we are interested in unintended use cases. So please tell us your stories about expansion or repair of technology and about liberation of proprietary systems—from decapped smart-cards over firmwares of your coffee machine to modified agricultural engines. How many power cycles did it take to get your project working? We want to hear about it.

Of course we're also up for a surprise: Please submit all the things we can't imagine!

Science

Scrutiny is at the core of science. So, we’re wondering: How do we value fact based research, if people prefer probable search results over correct ones? How does it change our understanding of correlation and causation, if we replace studies with their automated summaries? If we stop writing and start generating, how reliable is our tale of discovery? In short: How do we react to science slop?

Our answer: by giving the stage to the people who do research, understand, investigate or explain the world. Share with us your insights, your surprising conclusions and your passion for understanding the inner workings of things. We want to see your talks – on the linguistics of machines, the behavioural patterns of chatbots, the biology of red giants and the tectonics of lasagna. We want your proposals for the science track. Send us your submissions from research institutions, universities, hack spaces, living rooms and garages. If you bring new findings on exciting topics, explain complex ideas like no one else or ask the questions that nobody is asking – then you have come to the right track

Security

The security track showcases the influence of IT security aspects on users and machines. We welcome technical submissions covering hardware or software.

If you have developed new solutions to previously unsolved problems, or you have found new challenges which we knew nothing about and you want to share your discoveries with thousands of fellow security enthusiasts, then we invite you to present.

This includes topics from mathematics, networks, operating systems, web technologies, memory (mis)management, cryptography, programming languages, hardware design and other fields.

Listen to talks in your language

Most talks will be either in English or German, the Schedule will tell you, for each talk, the language it will be presented in.

The interpreters from c3lingo will translate all German talks into English, and probably all English talks into German. In addition, many talks will be translated into another language, like French, Spanish, Polish, or even Schwytzerdütsch.

To listen to the translations, visit mumble.c3lingo.org and select the hall you are in and the audio you would like to hear: the original as spoken by the presenters, English/German (translation-1), or a third language option (translation-2).

Join the audio channel through your phone or laptop using a web browser, the Mumble Desktop Client or find a mobile Mumble App. If possible, please connect your headphones via cable. This will make your audio more stable and free bandwidth for others that have to use Bluetooth.

Was ist eine Assembly?

Assemblies sind Gruppen aus dem Chaosumfeld, die gemeinsam eine Teil des Congresses mitgestalten. Das können zum Beispiel Hackspaces, Erfas, chaostreffs, NGOs, FOSS-Projekte und Online-Communities aus dem weiten Chaosumfeld sein. Dafür werden ihnen Flächen bereitgestellt, in denen diese Gruppen einen Platz haben, um ihre Ideen, Themen und Projekte zu präsentieren und ansprechbar zu sein. Also am besten schaust du mal bei ein paar Assemblies vorbei, um eine Idee zu bekommen, was dort alles passiert.

Platzverteilung und Zuordnung

Bei der Registrierung einer Assembly könnt ihr die gewünschte Anzahl an Plätzen angegeben. Zu dem Zeitpunkt ist eine realistische Schätzung des Assembly-Bedarfs nicht immer möglich. Oft ändert der sich noch bis kurz vor der Veranstaltung. Insgesamt ist der gewünschte Platz immer größer als der vorhandene.

Damit wir fair platzieren können, gibt es in Zusammenarbeit mit dem Pre-Sales-Team eine Art statistische Erhebung. Über das Ticketsystem bekommen alle Teilnehmende die Möglichkeit, sich einer Assembly zuzuordnen. Alle, die Teil einer Assembly sind und sich dort viel aufhalten werden, können und sollten sich ihrer Assembly zuordnen. Wenn die Detailplanung vor Ort losgeht, erhält das Assemblies-Team eine Liste mit den Assembly-Namen und der Anzahl der Zuordnungen. Diese Zahl soll helfen, eine realistische und faire Platzverteilung zu finden.

Aber: Die Zuordnung ist kein Anspruch auf einen Sitzplatz. Das Assembly Team schaut sich den insgesamt verfügbaren Platz, die bei der Registrierung angegebenen Daten und das Ergebnis der Zuordnung an und versucht möglichst alle Bedarfe sinnvoll zu berücksichtigen.

Um Dich zuzuordnen, öffne deinen Ticket-Bestell-Link (suche nach Mails von 40c3-tickets@cccv.de), dann auf "Details bearbeiten" im Bereich "Bestellte Produkte". Wähle die passende Assembly und speichere. Das sollte bei allen Tickets getan werden, die zu Menschen in Assemblies gehören.

Shared Tables

Verteilt auf den gesamten Assembly-Flächen werden einzelne Tische als „Shared Table" gekennzeichnet. Diese Tische sind für die flinken Impulse gedacht, die im Moment entstehen und den Congress in Bewegung halten. Workshops und Sessions, Diskussionen, gemeinsames Basteln und Hacken … Diese Tische sind explizit nicht dafür gedacht, dauerhaft besetzt zu werden. Sie sollen zeitlich begrenzt genutzt werden. Zum „Reservieren“ wird es Papierlisten auf jedem der Tische geben. Diese werden täglich erneuert.

Anreise & Aufbau

Ihr könnt mit dem Aufbau eurer Assembly ab 25. Dezember beginnen (außer ihr habt explizit andere Absprachen im Vorfeld mit dem Assembly-Team getroffen).

Am 25. Dezember werden wir ab 14 Uhr bis ca. 20 Uhr für eure Ankunft bereitstehen.

Am 27. Dezember könnt ihr voraussichtlich zu den selben Zeiten anreisen. Da der Congress dann bereits begonnen hat, kann es dann aber etwas länger dauern, bis ihr eure Sachen ausladen könnt. Außerdem braucht ihr auf jeden Fall ein gültiges Einlassbändchen, um das Gebäude betreten zu dürfen.

What is an assembly?

Assemblies are groups from the chaos environment that jointly help shape part of the Congress. These can be, for example, hackspaces, Erfas, chaostreffs, NGOs, FOSS projects, or even online communities from the wider chaos environment. Space is provided for these groups to present their ideas, topics, and projects and to be approachable. So it's best to drop by a few assemblies to get an idea of what's going on there.

You can find out how to register an assembly on the info page “How to be an Assembly”. Information about the registered assemblies and what happens there can be found in the Assemblies List in the Hub. For orientation at the event, a map is available from c3nav.

Where is our assembly?

You will find the location of your assembly through c3nav.

Seat allocation and assignment

When registering an assembly, you request a number of seats. We understand it is not always possible to provide a realistic estimate at the time of registration. Often, requirements change until shortly before the event. To ensure fair allocation, we work with the pre-sales team to conduct a statistical survey. The ticket system gives everyone the opportunity to assign to an assembly. Anyone who is part of an assembly and will be spending a lot of time there can and should assign themselves to their assembly. When on-site planning begins, the Assembly Team receives a list of assembly names with their assignments. These numbers help determine a more realistic and fair allocation of space. However, assignment does not guarantee a seat. The Assembly Team will then review the total available space, the data provided during registration, and the results of the assignment, and try to take all needs into account as sensibly as possible.

To assign yourself, open your ticket order (look for mails from 40c3-tickets@cccv.de), use the order link, click on "Change details" in the "Ordered items" area, chose your Assembly and save. Do this for all tickets which are part of an Assembly.

Shared Tables

Individual tables throughout the assembly areas are marked as “Shared Tables.” These tables are intended for quick ideas that arise in the moment and keep the Congress moving. Workshops and sessions, discussions, joint crafting and hacking... These tables are explicitly not intended to be occupied permanently; they are to be used for a limited time. There will be paper lists on each of the tables for “reserving” them. These will be renewed daily.

Arrival & setting up

You may begin setting up your assembly starting 25 December (unless you have been explicitly instructed otherwise).

On 25 December, we will be available for your arrival from 14:00 to around 20:00.
On 26 December, we will be available for your arrival from 12:00 to around 20:00.
On 27 December, we expect that it will still be possible to arrive with deliveries for your assembly, but since Congress will already be running by then, it might take longer to unload your equipment. Also, you will need to pick up a wristband before being able to enter the building.

Damit sind Congress-Teilnehmer*innen in der Lage, für die Zeit der Veranstaltung Bildungsurlaub zu beantragen, und müssen nicht ihren normalen Erholungsurlaub dafür verwenden.

Leider wird dieses jedoch von Jahr zu Jahr schwieriger, da viele Bundesländer die Anforderungen erhöhen und teilweise Kongresse gar nicht mehr zulassen.

Wie beantrage ich Bildungsurlaub?

TL;DR: Das Formular – für das Bundesland, in dem du beschäftigt bist – aus der unteren Liste ausdrucken. Oberen Teil beim Arbeitgeber abgeben, um Urlaub zu beantragen. Unteren Teil beim Congress stempeln lassen, anschließend zum Arbeitgeber, um Teilnahme zu bestätigen.

Lade das für dein Bundesland passendes Formular herunter und drucke es aus. Trage die nötigen Daten in das Formular ein. Das Formular hat zwei Teile, die Anmeldebestätigung und die Teilnahmebescheinigung. Übermittele jetzt sofort die Anmeldebestätigung deinem Arbeitgeber. Falls du schon normalen Urlaub beantragt hast, kannst du fragen, ob dieser auf Bildungsurlaub umgeschrieben werden kann. Hier musst du allerdings auf die Kulanz des Arbeitgebers hoffen.

Wichtig

Die Teilnahmebescheinigung bringst du bitte zum Congress mit. Sie wird dir am letzten Tag abgestempelt. Vergiss nicht deine Teilnahmebestätigung abstempeln zu lassen, da wir dies nicht nachträglich machen dürfen. Lege sie anschließend deinem Arbeitgeber vor.

Wieso gibt es keinen Bildungsurlaub für mein Bundesland?

TL;DR: Es gibt Bundesländer, die kein Freistellungsgesetz haben oder bei denen die Beantragung zu zeit- & kostenintensiv ist.

Obwohl die BRD schon 1976 die Konvention 140 der Internationalen Arbeitsorganisation (ILO) ratifiziert und sich damit verpflichtet hat, bezahlten Bildungsurlaub zum Zwecke der beruflichen oder politischen Bildung zu ermöglichen, blieb der Bund untätig.

Daraufhin haben die Bundesländer eigene Gesetze erlassen. Diese unterscheiden sich allerdings mehr oder weniger stark von einander. Dies macht es sehr zeitaufwändig, die Anerkennungen für alle Bundesländer einzuholen.

Leider erkennen in den letzten Jahren vermehrt Bundesländer unseren Congress nicht mehr als Bildungsveranstaltung an. Dies liegt an verschiedene Gründen, oft aber dadran, dass viele Bundesländer „Kongresse, Konferenzen und Messen“ explizit als nicht anerkennungswürdig betrachten.

Wir geben weiterhin unser Bestes, um möglichst vielen Teilnehmer*innen die Möglichkeit auf Bildungsurlaub zu geben.

Barrierefreiheit

Wie geht Assistenz?

Assistenz hilft Behinderten, Barrieren zu umgehen.

Tu nur, um was du gebeten wirst. Nicht mehr.

Gib keine Assistenz auf Verdacht. Dränge keine Hilfe auf.

Sag an, was du tust. Vor allem, wenn du mir nahe kommst. Oder an meine Sachen gehst.

Ich nutze einen Rollstuhl

Mein Rollstuhl ist ein Hilfsmittel. Ich kann mich damit besser bewegen.

Mach keine Annahmen und habe keine Erwartungen. Hab kein Mitleid. Nein, du kannst dir nicht vorstellen, wie das ist.

Möchtest du länger mit mir reden, such' dir einen Sitzplatz. Das freut meinen Nacken.

Wenn ich Hilfe brauche, frage ich. Ich weiß, was ich kann.

Du magst nicht, wenn du geschubst wirst? Dann schiebe mich oder mein Hilfsmittel auch nicht herum.

Das heißt ich kann schlecht oder nichts sehen.

Viele Sachen in meiner Umgebung sehe ich nicht oder nur schlecht: deine Körpersprache, deine Blicke, wohin du zeigst.

Schau mich also nicht fragend an, sondern spreche mich mit meinem Namen an.

Wenn ich Hilfe brauche, frage ich.

Beschreibe mir gern Sachen, die ich nicht sehen kann. Vor allem, wenn du Bilder online postest.

Bitte halte für mich die Leitstreifen am Boden frei. Entferne Stolperfallen wenn du sie siehst.

Ich bin gehörlos oder schwerhörig

Das heißt ich kann nichts oder nicht gut hören.

Sprich deutlich und schreie nicht. Wenn ich dich nicht verstehe, sag es noch einmal.

Sehe ich deinen Mund, kann ich dich besser verstehen. Helle und ruhige Orte helfen auch.

Meine Hände können mit Gebärden alles sagen, was deine Stimme auch kann. Nicht alle Gehörlosen können gebärden.

Ich bin nicht allein im Kopf

In unserem Körper leben mehrere Anteile. Behandle jeden von uns mit Respekt.

Wir haben verschiedene Interessen, Pronomen und Gewohnheiten. Anteile können auch Kinder, Tiere oder Fabelwesen sein.

Manchmal wirken wir "vergesslich". Das kann passieren, wenn wir Erinnerungen nicht teilen. Wer vorn ist - also den Körper steuert - kann sich ändern. Das bekommen wir nicht immer mit.

Wie in einer WG kann es auch in unserem Kopf Streit geben. Es kann sein, dass dich nicht alle von uns gleich mögen.

Was heißt getriggert?

Ich habe schlimmes erlebt. Trigger ziehen mich in die Situation zurück. Das tut mir sehr weh.

Alles kann ein Trigger sein. Auch deine Frisur.

Trigger können mich sehr böse machen. Aber auch einfrieren lassen.

Nimm das nicht persönlich. Ich kämpfe mit meiner Erinnerung. Nicht mit dir.

'Trigger' ist ein Fachwort. Nutze es nicht einfach so.

Mein Kopf kann gerade nicht.

Ich habe Depressionen. Mir geht es nicht gut.

Mein Kopf ist fies zu mir. Das raubt mir Energie.

Bitte rede mir die Gefühle nicht aus. Bitte sage nicht, wie toll ich doch bin.

Du kannst mir helfen, in dem du für mich da bist, mir zuhörst oder mich ablenkst.

Neurodiversität

Ich bin manchmal non-verbal

Ich kann gerade nicht sprechen. Das heißt nicht immer, dass es mir schlecht geht.

Vielleicht ist einfach viel in meinem Kopf los.

Manchmal kann ich trotzdem noch “reden”: im Chat, mit Stift oder Karten.

Achtung, Meltdown!

Ich sehe gerade sehr böse oder wütend aus. Das ist nicht so gemeint.

Ich habe eine Krise. Ich muss mich abreagieren. Alles raus lassen hilft mir gerade.

Es tut mir leid, wenn das gruselig ist.

Ich bekomme einen Overload.

Es ist mir gerade zu viel.

Das kann an Lichtern, Geräuschen oder Gerüchen liegen. Oder an einem sozialen Konflikt.

Ich muss wieder runter kommen, damit es mir besser geht. Dabei hilft ein ruhiger Ort.

Das ist ein Shutdown.

Manchmal will mein Körper nicht mehr: Etwas blockiert mich dann.

Das kann einfach so passieren. Manchmal geht es mir auch schlecht.

Gib mir Zeit, mich zu lösen.
Fass mich nicht an.
Rede nicht auf mich ein.

Ich stimme, das ist gut so!

Dir fällt vielleicht auf, dass ich: - zeichne, - mit dem Körper wippe, - einen Kaugummi kaue, - oder an etwas herumspiele.

Das heißt Stimming. Es hilft mir beim runter kommen. Und beim zuhören.

Mein Normal ist atypisch.

Ich meine und verstehe Sachen oft wörtlicher, als andere.

Ironie bekomme ich nicht immer mit. Andere verstehen meine Ironie manchmal auch nicht.

Mein Körper spricht eine eigene Sprache: Hände-Flattern kann Freude zeigen.

Ich ticke etwas anders. Das macht Verstehen schwerer. Aber: Wenn alle Rücksicht nehmen, klappt's.

Ich habe Ticks

Das heißt mein Körper muss manchmal Geräusche oder Gesten machen. Die sind manchmal gemein.

Ich kann das unterdrücken, aber das kostet Kraft.

Bitte erwähne meine Ticks nicht. Bitte versuche nicht, Ticks auszulösen.

Frag mich, bevor du mir von anderen Ticks erzählst. Ticks können ansteckend sein.

Reading your lips help me understand. Well-lit and quiet places help with that.

Hands can sign everything a voice can say. Not all of us can speak sign language.

I'm not alone in my head

Our body is shared by many alters. Be excellent to each of us.

Our interests, pronouns and habits my differ. Alters may be children, animals or fictional beings.

We may seem to forget things. This happens when we don't share memories. The alter in front controlling the body can switch. We may not always realize that happening.

Just as with roommates, head-mates may get into fights. Not all of us may like you equally.

What being triggered means?

I lived through horrible things. Triggers bring back the horror and related emotions. That hurts.

Everything may be a trigger, even your hairstyle.

When triggered I may get mad or freeze up.

Don't take it personally. It's not you, it's my memory.

'Trigger' is a serious term. Don't just use it willy-nilly.

My head just won't today.

I have depression and I'm not doing well right now.

My head is mean to myself. That is taxing on me.

Please don't deny my bad feelings. Don't force me to see how great I am.

You can help by being there, listening and distracting me.

Neurodiversity

Sometimes I am non-verbal

I cannot speak right now. This does not mean I am unwell.

Maybe there's simply too much in my head.

Sometimes, I may still be able to talk: via chat, with a pen or using cards.

I am able to suppress it, but it does cost energy.

Don't mention or provoke my tics.

Ask me before you tell me about other tics. They can be contagious.
