Day 3
noisy improvised electronic music solo performance(day 3)
Assembly-Event
electronic, live improvised, sound and noise oriented solo music session & short talk about the concept and q/a about artistic or technical questions, if desired. the focus of my setup is currently a pure data based synth i developed that runs on a tablet and which i currently use on two devices in parallel. an essential element is a self-made breath controller, which turns the synth into a wind instrument for sounds. since the design of my setup is in a permanent development process, the exact setup will only be finalized before the concert. aesthetically, my music is based on my many years of experience as a saxophonist in the field of contemporary improvised music and my current departure from traditional musical structures - especially the use of quantized pitches such as tempered tuning. my music aims less at creating emotions (but if you feel something it is of course ok :-) and more at observing cognitive processes and creating interest.

Πxl (no pronouns) is an artist from leipzig. after more than three decades as a professional musician on various acoustic and electronic instruments, in different styles and with numerous concerts at home and abroad, the corona pandemic led to a reflection and reorientation towards more left-wing activist work and a strong focus on artistic work. the person has been performing under the name Πxl since 2023, concentrating on experimental, improvised music and the use of controllers and self-developed software instruments based on computer music systems such as supercollider and pure data. Πxl is interested in working subtly with very pure electronic sounds and noises, avoiding doubling effects such as delay, reverb and loops, as well as classical musical material, especially 12-tone tempered tones and chords.
