Train Raiders guide to Germany

Treffen der Bahn-Chaosbubble - Tag 1
bongoking

Who hasn't been annoyed when you have a super full train, the toilet is broken and you miss your connection because nobody on the platform lets passengers get off.

We would like to develop a first draft of a collection of tips and tricks for stress-free use of public transport in Germany. What should you bring with you on a train journey? Which boarding tactics are best? Where can you find “wild seats” on the train, e.g. on the stairs or on luggage racks? The end result will be a collaborative document with tips & tricks, links and local recommendations. As a second step, we would also like to develop low-threshold measures to improve local public transport systems in a guerilla-like manner, for example stickers with “Stand right, walk left”, which can be attached to escalators, or information leaflets for optimized boarding behavior at train doors. Come and discuss with us and get involved!
