Who controls our ways of movement in the spaces we experience art, exchange and playful joy in? And how can we seize these spaces? A try on mapping.
In this workshop we will take a power-critical look on the design of cultural spaces. We will exchange knowledge and perspectives perceive spaces: the way we experience movement, agency, exercise of power in cultural, public and political spheres – and the spaces between. How can we analyze, hack and influence them?
Wanja is an artist with a focus on the design of immersive, participative and transformative spaces. In the workshop Wanja will share tools and experiences from their own artistic and political work. We will for example take a closer look on how the police in Hamburg influences movement and atmosphere in public spaces – and how we might be able to usurp that. We will share our knowledge and perspectives in the group and build a shared vocabulary.
Hopefully in the end we will go home with a fresh and critical eye for the way that spaces we live in are being shaped and how we could transform them.
