Rama Thiaw (born 1978) is a Dakar based filmmaker and screenwriter.
She is best known for her 2009 documentary “Boul Fallé, la Voie de la
lutte” and her award winning documentary ”The Revolution Won’t be
Televised” (2016). Her films feature how social issues are amplified
through minor and major media - and expore which medias are most
relevant in specific contexts.

Diana & Rama met during an activist film festival in Barcelona: we spent hours talking about technology, gender, art, politics, Europe, Africa, specific countries and how to make media that matters. We also talked about hacking - socially and technically - and what it means to across different platforms - social and technical. She was there as director and producer of "The Revolution Will Not Be Televised" and I was there as the cosmic advisor for "Spell Reel." Both of these films deal with guerilla media in Africa - but can be used to look at the whole world. We'd like to continue this conversation in public with the specific environment of the Chaos Computer Congress because we think it would matter there and bring us both new insights into our own work
