How you can use LaTeX for scientific writing and to what else it can be useful. Beginner workshop. Topics: Basic document setup, equations, references, figures and tables, bibliography with biblatex, TeXmaker

In preparation, you can install LaTeX (For Linux e.g.: Texlive, for Windows: Texlive or MiKTeX, for Mac: MacTeX) and TeXmaker. But you can also follow the workshop by just listening.

usually commercial with free basic options, I didn't try them, but might be interesting if you want to work with others in one document. (Another nice option to collaborate is by working with latex and git.)
