Looks like this won't be needed anymore as the project creator doesn't want any help with the Wiki.

Here go the beginnings of the Style Guide I was starting to write just so they're saved somewhere.

Keep 'em short & to the point

While subtitles should reproduce what was originally said by a speaker, they don't need to be a verbatim translation all the time. To keep them as short as possible, leave out superflous information like fillers ("uhm", "erm" etc.), stuttering / unintentional repetition of words as well as errors that the speaker immediately corrected him/herself (e.g. mixup of words, or when they originally started a sentence, then cut themselves off and restarted the sentence differently). It basically comes down to leaving off information that doesn't benefit the reader in any way.
