Donatella Della Ratta

Donatella Della Ratta received a degree in Mass Communication in 1998 with a thesis on Arab satellite TV channels. She wrote a book in 2000 called “Media Oriente. Models of productions, strategies of distribution, technologies of trasmission in new Arab TV channels” and she is a regular contributor on Arab media issues for the Italian independent national daily newspaper Il Manifesto. She also works as independent filmmaker producing documentaries and TV programmes about Middle Eastern issues.

She is currently finishing a book on Al Jazeera and preparing the TV and movie section of the art exhibition “Western cultures and values portrayed by the Arab world” to be held in Museum of Contemporary Art, Barcelona, may 2005.
