Studium Mathematik/Informatik an der TU Berlin. Auslandsaufenthalte in Sydney, Australien, bei der Computational Algebra Group von J. Cannon, und Bristol, England, bei der Cryptography und Information Security Group von N. Smart. Seit 2003 Professor am Institut für Mathematik der TU Berlin. Forschungsgebiete sind algorithmische algebraische Zahlentheorie und Geometrie im besonderen Hinblick auf Anwendungen in der Kryptographie.
