=== Raspberry Pi mesh network? ===

Governments are known to shut down the internet / communication during the protests. Hand signal do not scale at 100k people. Thinking about mesh network, potentially Raspberry Pi: https://raspberrypi.stackexchange.com/questions/101827/is-raspberrypi-powerful-enough-to-act-as-a-node-of-a-mesh-network

Cheap, disposable, people may have a spare device. Ideally a single line installer, no user interaction, booting in a headless mode.

I have spoken with Freifunk people - they shared a number of valuable lessons.

Too many nodes - too many routing packets. Directional WiFi antennas up to 10km range. Connecting to the uplink, running exit TOR nodes. Various routers.

Well... Basically, I've learned that I know very little.

But not open-source, proprietary protocol. Just like with Facebook / WhatsApp / Google Docs - these tools are acceptable (I know, I know) if we want to reach out to the masses. For internal communication obviously something private, encrypted, secure.

Potential use case: 100k people during a protest, making a decision about what to do next? Go to Buckingham Palace or Waterloo Bridge? Simple polling option can solve a lot of problems.

No Future – No Dancefloor Reclaim Club Culture calls for System change, help us upgrade Digital Activism Training - Infrastructuring for the upcoming rave protests for climate #globalstrike

We are looking for supporters and advisors, because we would to upgrade our communication infrastructure being used in mass scale demonstrations in the city. Our need is secure communication while reclaiming the streets, and stable coordination of autonomous groups at neuralgic spots. Before, within and after direct action, during blockades, while executing a performance… you know what we mean… :) Signal, Freifunk, radio … what else is there we dont know about? We as a political network of club culture are fed up with the unwillingness & ignorance of the responsible institutions and right wing neglectivists of climate change. Supporting fff. Join us for discussion and knowledge exchange – No Future, No Dancefloor. Lets start another raveolution! 24.8. (a.k.a. day 4 a.k.a. Saturday) at 4 pm

Location: AFRA dome (next to the RCC decentral office, in lower 1komona)
