[edit] GnuRadio

A group of gnuradio/Software Defined Radio people and radio-amateurs (HAM radio) from the USA and The Netherlands are coming to the Wireless Village.

It is not WIFI what we do but it is certainly wireless.

Gnuradio is the opensource framework for doing radio reception and transmission using Software Defined Radio. People from GuRadio also designed and build the USRP (Universal Software Radio Peripheral) with which you can do any radio standard you can program in software.

(analoge FM/TV, shortband radio (AM,SSB,FM, digital), GPS, GSM, WIFI, DECT,DVB-T,DVB-C, ATSC, WIFI)

If there is demand workshops can be held, check back for this during the event.

Some people with extensive knowledge of amateur radio harware and short-wave communications (including morse) will be there.

Good (unofficial) news. It seems as if a german company named "Gigahertz-Solutions" plans to import the USRP to germany. The idea is still in it's infancy, but if a few people would fax them, they surely could import a few. --Casandro 08:10, 8 August 2007 (CEST)
