The title of the talk “Making the theoretical possible” has been changed to “MD5 considered harmful today: Creating a rogue CA certificate”. The speakers will be Alexander Sotirov, Marc Stevens and Jacob Appelbaum.
Dag Arne Osvik, David Molnar, Arjen Lenstra and Benne de Weger will also be in the audience.

The registration for your personal phone number at the 25C3 is now up and running. Excerpt from the eventphone page:
If you want to create a phonenumber for one of the upcoming events, you have to sign up first and give yourself a username.
You will get an email to confirm your account. Then you can choose a phonenumber for your cordless phone.
That is all you need to phone other people at the event for free. You can make friends or retrieve them, when they got spread over the whole area.

The very first version of our schedule (we call it “Fahrplan”) is out. Have a look.
The conference will present talks ranging from eVoting, a discussion of Methods for Understanding Targeted Attacks with Office Documents, to an overview about RepRap in the talk Objects as Software: The Coming Revolution. Phones and micro controllers will be a very big topic this year, but not all talks are fixed by now.
You will see a lot of empty slots, but it basically means that these talks are not 100% confirmed. The good thing: You still have something to wait for in the next couple of days.

If you know how to make an LED blink, you’ve almost certainly seen the work coming out of his hackerspace in New York City, NYCResistor. If Bre hasn’t inspired you yet, he will soon!
At the 25C3, you can find out about his latest passion for bringing rapid prototyping straight out of science fiction and turning it into a nascent movement of hackers leading a rapid prototyping lifestyle.
“We live in a time where there are no limits to creativity. If you can imagine it, you can make it. The technology of rapidly prototyping is now at a stage where any object or project is in the realm of the possible…If one person gets hooked, I will be successful,” he said.
Bre will also be participating in a panel discussion on hackerspaces, sharing his experience building NYCResistor, the impact it’s had on his work and why you should start or join one.
“Our hacker collective’s focus is to learn, share, and make things. Having a group of friends to work on projects with is the thing I’m most proud of. If you daydream of having a space to hack on projects with friends, you really should start a hackerspace.” (more…)
