Charter for Innovation, Creativity and Access to Knowledge

Over 100 activists, artists and researchers, citizens and organizations from 20 different countries, as well as two Commissions from the European Community and national and international political representatives participated in the Free Culture Forum held in Barcelona (29 October to 1 November 2009).

The participants have agreed to the “Charter for Innovation, Creativity and Access to Knowledge” and created an international coalition to urge respect for the civil rights of citizens and artists in the digital era. The Charter is being disseminated and implemented worldwide.


Workshop for actions:

  • Presentation of the Charter as a tool for advocacy and citizen action
  • Discussion on possible improvements and future extensions.
  • Opening the coalition to new groups and strength the networks and collaborations
  • Discussion on how to enhance visibility and efficiency of the messages.
