mrmcdX: Call for participation

Monday, July 11th, 2011

English version below.

https://cccv.pentabarf.org/submission/mrmcdX entgegengenommen.

And now for something completely different: the English version.

From September, 2nd to September 4th, 2011, the 10th MetaRheinMain ChaosDays (short: mrmcdX) will take place. They are organized by Chaos Darmstadt, Chaos inKL., cccffm, CCC Mainz, CCC Mannheim, as well as oqlt.

The congress is all about hacking (both technical and social aspects) and now being held for the tenth time. The location will be (like in the last few years) the Piloty building of Darmstadt University of Technology (49.877491° N, 8.654536° E). For three days, talks, workshops, discussions and a hackcenter will be offered. Furthermore, you will not need to starve as there’ll be both breakfast and barbecue available.

We are looking forward to your suggestions for workshops and talks which fascinate our broadly interested technical audience. In the past years, we covered topics like open source projects, applied and theoretical cryptography, security, social networks, embedded systems, programming languages, anonymity, internet policy or rocket science.

Submissions are gladly accepted via the Pentabarf submission system at https://cccv.pentabarf.org/submission/mrmcdX. Speakers will receive free entry for the complete event (but no free coffeine supply).

If you have any questions or suggestions, feel free to contact us via mail at mrmcd-ref@chaos-darmstadt.de. The official IRC channel is #mrmcdX in the hackint IRC network.

We’re selling tickets for the Camp now. For more information, please read the Tickets page in our wiki.

May 7th: Camp 2011 – Field Day

Sunday, April 10th, 2011

We invite everybody to join us for a public visit to the location of the Chaos Communication Camp 2011 at Luftfahrtmuseum Finowfurt [1]. Everybody who wants to do a project, put up a really big tent, build a village or do anything special in one way or the other should come.

The visit takes places at Saturday, May 7th, 2011 at 14:00h CEST. We will spend around two to three hours at the site depending on interest. Be careful to be on time as we won’t explain things twice.

If you plan to come, please drop your name in the wiki [2]. There you will also find driving instructions, aerial photographs and maps of the area and some of our ideas how to organize the campsite.

Camp 2011 Needs Your Help

Wednesday, April 6th, 2011

Preparations for this year’s Chaos Communication Camp have started.

If you don’t know about the Camp in general have a look at the 2007, 2003, and 1999 web sites. You should also watch these great videos in order to get a first impression: Camp 2007 and Camp 2003

Actually, we’ve been working on Chaos Communication Camp 2011 – Project Flow Control – for quite some time, but finally there is a web site now. Since we’re a bit late already, we really need your support.

First and foremost we need your help in distributing the Call for Participation and the Call for a Space Program of the Hacker Scene.

If you’d like to give a lecture or organize a workshop on topics dealing with space exploration, technology, ethics, science, security, art, philosophy, politics, culture or cooking make a submission to our submission system!

Moreover, we need help with designing web and print publications, t-shirts and many other things. You may notice that our current web site is not that beautiful. For that reason we’ve also published a Call for Design. If you’re a capable graphics designer or happen to know someone who is and might be crazy enough to spend days, only receiving fame and glory in return, please read it and contact us!

Camp 2011 will happen

Tuesday, March 15th, 2011

After receiving some concerned inquiries we want to state again:

Yes, the Chaos Communication Camp 2011 will take place. It will be from August 10th thru August 14th 2011 in Finowfurt near Berlin. There will be enough tickets for everybody. You may start your travel preparations by booking flights, applying for visas, charging your transcontinental teleporter’s capacitors, etc. We will be there.

We Came in Peace: Event Recordings Available!

Sunday, January 2nd, 2011

It’s only been a few days since the close of the 27c3, but much of the conference is ready to download. Credit goes in no small part to the FEM, who did a really tremendous job during the conference and continue their hard work getting Official Releases of the talks ready to go.

If you enjoyed the streams and the recordings of the talks, consider supporting their efforts to purchase updated equipment to improve the image quality and transmission path for future events.

Did you really love certain events? Weren’t so excited about others? Let us know! You can leave feedback via the Fahrplan. Find the events you’d like to leave your thoughts on and click on the green “Give Feedback” link in the lower right hand corner. We use this information to plan future events, so your input is essential.

Thanks again for a great Congress and we’ll see you at the camp!
