[edit] Intro
Unfortunately, I will only be there for the weekend this time. :-(
I'm a CAcert assurer. (http://www.cacert.org) If you need to be assured, let me know. I'm allowed to give you 10/15 points.
My DECT phone is not compatible. :-( But, my network card is compatible.
Berlin is cool!
Ik spreek Nederlands, Je parle Francais, Ich spreche Deutsh, I speak English, Latine loquor
[edit] Checklist
I don't know what I will forget this time (otherwhise I wouldn't forget it), but knowing myself I will always forget something important... (Like a tent or so.)
[edit] Missions
[edit] Portable cold
Mission accomplished!
Alcoholic beverages need to be consumed cold.
Tents don't have very good isolation and the Great Daystar makes it almost impossible to keep your favorite drunk-inducing drinks drinkable. We therefor need to find a portable cold generating device.
On festivals we normally take dry ice, which leads to very funny situations: (14:00h, blistering sun, "Hi Neighbours, can we borrow your BBQ as our beer is frozen.")
But we don't have time to get dry ice this time. (Mental note: "Investigate possibility to provide "Dry Ice Drive-in" on the road towards festivals to make money.")
So, what to do now?
As always, the first thing to do is not to panic. The second thing to do is to find a solution.
And we have one: a fridge.
Quite accidentally, we have a networkswitch with a magnetic foot. So, it is trivial to attach the fridge to this switch, so we can always find more drinks (and our tents) by following the CAT5 cabling...
[edit] Determine optimal traveling speed
In progress...
The real question is: "Optimal for what?" As long as we can't anser this question, we can not accomplish this mission...
My journey to Berlin will be around 800 km.
In order to make it with a full tank (45l), I must not consume more than 5.625 l/100km. (Don't worry, I already have a safe margin taken care of.)
My average consumption with driving 100.000+ km is 4.3 l/100km, and normally I can make it to Berlin and a little back home.
Actual consumption figures are:
120 km/h == 4.5 l/100km
130 km/h == +/- 5.1 l/100km
Offcourse this will all depend on the weight of the car (only tirefriction will then change) and the weather conditions.
I will try to have an average speed of around 133 km/h, so I can make the trip in 6 hours. Which is nice.
Although roadworks will severely negatively affect the average speed, they will greatly decrease fuelconsumption. So although my travel time will then increase, I can drive longer too.
