From Chaos Communication Camp 2007
I'm from Belgium, I'm 23 and mostly interested in computers and technology in general. Computers have caught my interest when I was 6, and now I, I think I couldn't live without them anymore :) I used to enjoy programming, but nowadays, I find networking and computer security more interesting, as well as some elektronics. In 2005, I finished my bachelor degree in Applied Computer Sciences, and now I'm studying a bridging program for Master of Industrial Sciences (Industrial Engineer) in Electronics - ICT. In my spare time, I'm an administrator at IWTStudent.Be, a forum for students of the IWT department of Erasmushogeschool Brussels, and I'm a member of the department's student council.
Other than that, I enjoy listening to music, horse riding (although I don't do this very frequently anymore), travelling, and of course I also like to party every now and then :) Sports I currently practice are fitness and Body Jam. Body Jam is a dance workout, with a mix of moves from salsa, funk, disco and streetdance.
When finishing my bachelor degree in Applied Computer Sciences, I went to Vietnam as an exchange student for my final work, which dealt with multilayer traffic engineering and optical networking. In september I'm starting my last year for my master degree in Industrial Sciences, Electronics - ICT, but I still haven't thought of any really interesting subject for my master thesis. The school itself has some thesis proposals, but I can't seem to find anything I'm really interested in. Most of the proposals are either plain electronics, or focus at web technology and web programming.. which just isn't my kind of thing. The final work has to be related to ICT or electronics (but I'd rather stay on the ICT side :) and require a reasonable amount of research. I'd like to do something that is somehow network related, or maybe something about communication standards such as CAN/CANopen, used in automotive and embedded systems. Security related issues would also be interesting, if they're suitable for my study program. If anyone has any ideas or suggestions, or knows about any current projects going on where I might be able to join in, feel free to contact me.
