25C3: This is your last chance

Imagine the following to be spoken in a deep, dramatic voice, not unlike the one of Laurence Fishburne:

This is your last chance

This is your last chance

This is your last chance. After this, there is no turning back. You decide to NOT hand in a talk for 25C3 — the story ends, you wake up in your bed and believe whatever you want to believe.

You submit a talk for 25C3 — you stay in Wonderland and we’ll show you how deep the rabbit-hole goes. Your talk may even be accepted, who knows!

Here is how it goes:

The submission deadline for 25C3 is October, 5th 2008.

If you haven’t submitted your talk already, hurry up. All submissions must go through our submission interface at https://cccv.pentabarf.org/submission/25C3.

If you have submitted something, chances are you may want to go over your submission and polish it. Here are some things to keep in mind so the programme committee can review your submission:

  • Is the title of your talk meaningful and exciting enough?
Please use the language you give your talk in for the title. There are also some titles we’ve seen far too often to consider them original and funny anymore. Please check if your title contains phrases like “XY 2.0″, “XY reloaded”, or “… for fun and profit”. Don’t forget to upload a picture or icon for your talk! It makes your talk stand out visually in the published programme.
  • Is the description of your talk complete?
Go to the description tab in the interface and fill out the fields you see there. We need a short and sweet descriptions in a few words (we call it “abstract”) and a longer description in a few paragraphs.
  • Have you completed the description of the person speaking?
Please take the time to do so on the “description” tab at https://cccv.pentabarf.org/submission/25C3/person. Please ask the other speakers of this talk to do so as well, if you give the talk together with other people. Don’t forget photos!

For an example of what we would like to see in a complete submission, see http://events.ccc.de/congress/2006/Fahrplan/events/1423.en.html.

Thank you and good luck!
