On the 22C3 Conference Streaming Homepage you can get information, how to receive the audio and video streams of the conference. The audio streams are offered as OGG and MP3. The video streams are being produced in a number of formats. As well, there is a streaming-relay outside, featured by the Streaming Crew of the Forschungsgemeinschaft elektronische Medien (FEM) Ilmenau, which uses the Windows Media Video format. There you can get some videos on demand already.
If you have truble while watching the streams, check out the newest version of your media player, e.g. mplayer or VLC.
Unfortunately the Windows Media Video-Stream doesn’t work so well for me on Mac OS X 10.4.3 with Windows Media Player (as VLC/Quicktime can’t handle it of course). Since day 1, 17.00, the connection is lost after 3 minutes of streaming. THe OGG-stream works well. Also the other streams (Unicast MP4V RTSP/ASF) don’t work in VLC :-(. Maybe you could setup some real-media-alternative? Would be greatly appreciated. Thanks and have fun during the congress!
I couldn’t come this year so I’m dependig on the streams … and for me, they work great :-)
Quality, cut, picture-in-picture, sound … video-streaming as video-streaming should be.
And additionally the on-demand-streams from the FeM-guys … great work, thank you all! :-)
Not soo sad anymore, not be there …

Nick: Sorry, I still can’t confirm that. On “Saal 4″, the sound doesn’t work, on “Saal 2″ the stream’s video stopped some seconds after the connection was established. The picture/cuts/etc are good, no question… but the technical part isn’t working so well, I don’t know if that’s cause of my operating system or internet connection (via wireless lan, but tried it via fixed cables in the afternoon, too)…
I hope all captures are available later, not only as a stream but as a download :-).
