Quite an issue last year. Smoking situation was so bad that even heavy smokers complained about the bad air. Of course, smoking is forbidden in the art&beauty-area, the lecture halls and in the Hackcenter, as it was last year. |
But for the rings we want to improve the situation and discussed many suggestions in the last months.
As the technical solution for this problem is way to expensive for us – as nerds, we would prefer that of course – we had to find a social one. So here it is: We kindly ask everyone not to smoke in the building. If you really have to smoke, do so, but keep in mind that you show everyone that you are an addict with no sense of social behavior and someone might remind you on our social solution for the smoking situation. We hope you do understand.
Why would anyone want to inhale carcinogens and addictive chemicals is really beyond me.
Please… if you want to smoke at 22C3, go outside !
Alternatively, consider becoming addicted to heroin or some other hard drug instead of nicotine. That way you will still enjoy being hopelessly addicted to a chemical substance, while putting nobody’s health in danger, but your own.
Please don’t smoke at the 22C3.
Please don’t smoke at the 22C3. Please.
*sigh* Although I consider myself a heavy smoker, I hereby plege not to smoke indoors at 22C3, because I’m actually an addict with a strong sense of social behaviour. Unless I’m sitting next to Damien, of course, in which case I’ll light the largest cigar I can find. ;)
And there we go again. In my experience kind requests to smokers often are futile requests, because most smokers just do not comprehend (at all) how much their smoke bothers non smokers. Kingmob, how do you consider yourself “social” when you cannot handle Damiens opninion? :)
Personally I’m considering the purchase of a few cans of “fart spray” at the party shop to stink back at any one who lights a smoke inside. Or maybe just air freshener, that would be more social. Do you guys (f/m) prefer roses or lavender? :)
[...] Nobody likes bans and regulations. Some people smoke at the Congress, some don’t. Almost all people hate the smell of cold smoke everywhere after four days at the Congress. So here we are again, asking you to understand and trying to make things acceptable for dislikers of bans and regulations, like ourselves. Here’s what we wrote last year: [...]
